Default Super ranger?

I picked up this 86 super ranger a couple months ago. its in great shape and the motor runs fine after a head job and the intermediate shaft replaced. but I dont know much else about what makes it a super ranger. other than some different parts here and there. so any info about it would be great. thanks

If it's an extended cab, that makes it a "super cab" in fords terms.

If its an STX it may have the high rider package. Pretty much a 2 inch budget lift from Ford. I have never heard of or seen any documentation on a "Super Ranger."

as far as I know its not the stx model. and I as well havent seen any documents showing a super ranger package. but advanced auto parts and sky jacker both have a listing for super ranger.

That would be Super Cab (extended cab).

Dealer special? Seems odd that they would have made enough and differently enough to have an actual different model parts listing.

I have never heard of a "Super Ranger" before.

I'm guessing it does say super Ranger on it somewhere? or on the title, other documentation etc.? Or did the P.O. just throw a cape on it and say it was Super?

Do you know what parts it had different?

I'm leaning towards an STX/Highrider option under a different name...

The only thing I know is listed as having "Super" in the name is the Super-Cab trucks. Me thinks he may have misinformed you?

Advanced and Skyjacker are referring to Super Cab's when they call them "Super Ranger's."

Super Cab = Extended Cab

I dont have any thing that says that its a super ranger. but the guy that was doing the work for me was having trouble finding some engine parts and called up to advanced. they looked under super ranger and found the parts. theres actually stuff out there for super rangers. I just want to know if you guys can shed any light on the subject. i guess not other than people think that i dont know the difference between a single cab and an extended cab is.

thanks to every one for what help they gave.

If any one has some more info let me know.

Yes, we established that by the 4th post.

Martin: I was referring not that you couldn't tell the difference, but that you may have been misinformed that it was a Super Ranger. Ranger parts are insanely easy to interchange. Hell, the spare tire carrier on a brand new right off the lot 2010 Ranger is the exact same one used on the first 1983 model.

I'm willing to bet those parts were in fact under a regular Ranger, and there was just a glitch in the parts software and they couldn't see them. They ended up finding them under the "Super Ranger" which in all probability, is the extended cab model.

The 302 in my Ranger, I watched it be pulled out of an 82(?) T-bird, apparently those never came with a 302. The casting number said it came out of a 1980 Galaxy, and I actually got parts for it ONE TIME, it had a listing! ever since then, there hasn't been any 1980 Galaxies listed, and I found out they didnt make them in 1980. So I have no idea what happened there. Ended up being out of a boat

ok thanks. I see what your saying and under stand about the weired shit that ford has done in the past and present. and have found some of the same mistakes. mabey there is such a thing as a super ranger that had some differences but they were so small no one cared. and thats why no one knows any thing about it now but your most likely right, thanks

I used to work at a Ford dealer, that built dually Rangers they badged as the "Li'l Bro" (was long before I started working there)...if you do actually have something that is called a Super Ranger, I would bet it is something similar to this, a dealer-optioned package

as others have said, the parts listing could be just a glitch, that happens all the time...and the only thing I know of from Ford would be the super cab, which you said you dont have

although, Wikipedia does show
