When I looked into it, they said no special plates (truck, farm, mfg, etc...) regardless of application and that the original colors had to remain (i.e. no color-matching).

It may be worth checking in case they changed.

The other big advantage (over $35 forever) is that (thanks to Haggerty Insurance's lobbying efforts in MI) vehicles with an authentic plate are not required to fully participate in the "catastrophic claims fund" which was literally 45% of my Vette's former insurance cost.

Wow, you have more Michigan plates than I do!! I wish they had a 1980 plate for a project I'm working on.
Did you ever try collecting plates from other states? I ended up with plates from 43 states, but never finished the set. Now they just sit in a box in my shed.

I know someone who is really into collecting license plates but he isn't a member here. Is there anyway I can have him contact you? Phone? Email?

I wounder when they started that? I did a special farm plate on my 77 ramcharger about 3 years ago....no problem at all. Thats sucks that they changed the rules

I have some plates I’m looking for that I might be willing to trade or just buy outright.

I need every Mexican state except Baja California
I need every Canadian Territory except Ontario, if you have a Polar Bear plate I defiantly want it

Pretty much any country around the world.
