Default zj bumper build question. Please Delete

Hey all
I am going to be working on a front bumper for my grand tomorrow and was wondering if anyone here has built one before?

Plan 1
I plan on cutting open the front to i can get in there a bit. Running a 2 x 4 1/4 tube in it. cutting out one part to make the end a c iron so i can weld the nuts in place. The problem with that is there is a nut welded in the uni body already for the radiator support. How hard is it to get that nut off? I would then use 4 1/2 bolts through the side and 1 through the bottom. On the outside of the uni body i would run a piece of steel to sandwich the uni body.

Plan 2
Running a 4" 1/4 plate into the uni body and just doing the 4 bolts through side and sandwiching the unibody.

I like the idea of plan 1 better because of the strenght different but was wondering if it was worth it or not? I plan on putting a winch on it.

Also was wondering how big of an area i need for a winch to mount and if 1/4 is strong enough? I was thinking about 24" by about 8 or 9.

I want to have it so the winch sits does in the bumper a bit. so the fair-lead is center in the front of the bumper.

Thanks in advance for any help.
