Ram Brake Lights

I have a 2006 Ram 1500 Big Horn

My problem is that the 2 brake lights on the bed are not working. The bulbs are good, they work and everything else works...flashers, signals, even when i turn the headlights on they light up...they just dont work when i hit the brake. They light on top of the cab works when i hit the brake.

The fuse that makes the most sense is the one that says "brake swtch / chmtl / stop LT" or something like that. That fuse is good.

Im thinking that it could be another fuse or maybe that my trailer wiring has a short in it....

any suggestions would be great...thanks

strip part of a wire an screw it in with the bulb then put the other end as a ground. the true deffinition of "insert racial slur here" rigged.

i did this with my jeep just messing around with it one day works fine now

test the circuit at the rear lights with circuit tester first. check the contact on the bulb and make sure they are good, I have had the thin concact on the bulb melt into the plastic and not make good contact.
did you try new bulbs or just assume they are good?

bulbs have two filaments. On my 2005 Ram the top lights are turn signals and the bottom are brake, both are running lights also. check the bulbs first, then check for power at the tail light plug.

the turn signal/ multifunction switch is most likely bad, the brake light switch is good because the third light works, change that t/s switch and it will fix it
