Post SOLD/1977 D44 w/welded wedges/SOLD

1977 D44 w/welded wedges & 1979 D60 rear. D60 is sold.Ill give you the short story version. I swapped out my D60 rear(in daily driver condition) and put a Ford 9" in its place/in my Willys pickup.

I pulled the 5 lug knuckles/hubs from the 1977 Ford F150 Pickup D44 and swapped those to my 1979 Ford F250 Pickup HD D44.

Axle has a 3:54 R&P/open. Im leaving the front axle disassembled. This would be a good swap for a YJ. Grind off the wedges and weld on spring pads. I wish I had found this D44 a year ago, other wise i'd kept it and narrowed it instead.
Only reason im selling, its cheaper for me to not get involved in a hi-steer conversion.
"8 lug knuckles are sold.
Helpful info for anyone doing a D44 axle swap./Mr N's D44 axle info: http://77cj.littlekeylime.com/Dana44_3.htm

inner shafts are in the back ground.

Sorry about that,The 1977 D44 is out of a Ford F150/Full size Pickup. I dont know the center of the wedges off hand but ill post it later tonite.
Up date: The wedges are 40+ inches apart(outside the frame) which wouldnt mean a thing to you if your going leaf sprung. On a 1979 Ford F250 the front leaf springs are 31 1/2 inchs to the center of the spring packs. This (1977 F150 D44) axle has welded wedges, which means you can grind them off, unlike cast wedges, that cant be ground off.
Heres some referances, Mr N's D44 axle info(very helpful) http://77cj.littlekeylime.com/Dana44_3.htm
What kind of truck?

With the 8 lug knuckles/hubs the D44 would be about 65". I pulled the wheels off the D60 rear and got a measurement of 66" over all width.

Yeah, no joke.

PM also sent.

To help out with some of the other questions, this axle could be assembled to a 66.25" WMS with 5-lug stuff, 65.5" WMS with 6-lug stuff, and 67.5" WMS with 8-lug stuff. With RE SOA perches (the offset ones for YJ's and such) you can put spring perches at 31.25" or wider.

Come on guys, give me a break. I kept pricing the front axle, frirst with the D60 rear($300) and when that sold, then with the knuckles $200.
I sold the Knuckles friday evening and I sold the D44 front last nite. My bad for not updating the Post to Sold. Thx for putting up with my none-sense.
