Default 1947 dodge truck build

Well here I go again. Been talking about doing a street rod for a while now and found this 47 dodge Arkansas truck and had to have it. So plans are to put on modern frame and drive terrain and make it so wife and I can drive it an enjoy it.

GREAT looking truck, even in it's rusty state.
can't wait to see the vertical exhaust stacks coming up behind the cab!

Yes the cowl lights are factory from 41 to 47. They called them parking lights. But the ones in the front lower fender someone added in. Now I need to find a drive line. Has to have overdrive and want at least 400hp in the end .

so either cookie cutter LS type swap...

or something more interesting, like a hopped up 3.8 supercharged, or a inline 6 hopped up.

going with the age of the truck, A 4.6L stroker would be pretty neat, lots of torque, can use a modern aw4 trans, and reliable...

400hp pretty much leaves any choice on the table

It's a Dodge. It gets a new Hemi. The aftermarket is getting better for them.

Was thinking 6.1 hemi. Had a line on one but guy sold it a week ago. So see what comes along. I got time. But did find a sweet score. I removed the seat an in a box under it was all new glass for whole truck. I bought it without even knowing that. Bonus

That is a beautiful truck. It's a shame that it will be cut up but it's your truck, not mine. My I suggest a 3 rotor rotary engine with a modest street port? Just kidding, love the truck.

Good new is that original motor and trans is long gone before I bought it. But as far as looks goes it will stay the same but now will be enjoyable to drive lol.

It seems like it is hit and miss on my posts from Tapatalk. I do not know if there is a trick to it or something else.
