I tryed downloading a virus remover but when i go to Load it the program comes up saying "Norton.ece is sending your credit card number to an unknown host" or something along those lines and just closes it. But it doesn't close the screen to pay 39.99 to buy the "Security Tool" program

Well, it sounds like you won't be able to install a virus program if you didn't already have one.

At that point, reformating and reinstalling windows might be your only hope.

What virus remover?

The only 'downloads' I would trust are:

Norton
Kaspersky
AVG
Avast

There's a lot that are really trojan horses, you have to be careful.

Or you could do this.

Go to http://www.ubuntu.com/GetUbuntu/download

Burn to disc.

Insert disc in laptop, after boot- click install

Select 'Use entire disk'

In about 20 minutes the Microsoft demons will be banished forever!

This is a VERY common Malware right now, Malwarebytes is free and will remove it. Do some reasearch on it, from anohter pc ofcourse and you will get it.

Ohh and for anti-virus, Nod32 hands down... These guys are at defcon every year and simply amazing!

It's the "Security Tool" that keeps popping up and saying buy me, that's gonna be your malware. Probably installed itself while surfing the internet. My bro had the same deal on his desktop a couple weeks ago. Had to go into task manager and manually end the process and remove the "security tool." Real PITA one 'cause it wouldn't let you run any programs and would make web browsers lock up among other problems. Try downloading Spybot - Search and Destroy. It's put out by Safer Networking works pretty good at removing those things and blocking them so you don't get them to begin with. Plus it's free and get regular updates.

Every Windows 'HELP!' thread just makes me enjoy Linux more....

And to be fair, the reason Microsoft has these problems is not inferior coding, it's market share and the fact that MS has no control over the hardware it's product is used on. If you are writing malicious code, you will go for the largest potential audience.

Yes, unless it didnt come with one. Then it would have some kind of restore system that I don't have any clue how to work.

If its only a month old, you should be able to take it to where ever you bought it and have them do it.

Unless it was Best Buy, I wouldn't have them fold my laundry.

Reboot into safemode with networking and download malwarebytes. After installing update definitions and run full scan in safemode as well.
