Default Hello from Chicago!

Whats up everyone? Im Justin, Ive lurked here for quite a while looking for a cheap 4x4 to play with. I ended up finding a 94 XJ on craigslist for 1400. Its no beauty queen, but runs pretty good. I need to replace the track bar and sway bar links (the passenger side link is missing...) so I just ordered an IRO trackbar conversion as well as some JKS Quicker Disconnects. Hopefully the trackbar and an alignment will help with the death wobble Ive experienced over the past few days. Im told it has a 4.5" rough country lift kit on it, does anyone know how to verify this? I also need to replace the linkage from the 4x4 shifter to the transfer case, so Ill be off to pull a part to get a new one of those. What will I need to get the linkage off? I only need the long bar that connects the two brackets. Once I get that stuff taken care of Ill start looking for a nice iron bumper and call it good. Is anyone else from around the Chicago area? Im NW side halfway to O'hare.

NW Indiana here. Off the top of my head I cant think of what you'd need to get that linkage you need. I dont feel like crawling under my XJ right now but if its what I think its just popping the bar out of the brackets on each end. No tool required other than a long screw driver or pry bar.

Let me know if I can help you out with a bumper.

Sweet, thats what I was hoping for. Theres a pull a part not to far from here so Ill be headed there next week. I actually just got a bumper. It looks like a Mopar style for a 00 Cherokee, so my mounting points dont match up. I figure Ill just have someone weld it up there and say screw the bolts...for the price paid I had to take it.

Solid rig Justin, is that a snorkel I see? Looks like your dog likes your Dunlop mud terrains too!
