Default Gas Range Opinions

My wife and I are heading out to look for a new freestanding gas range tonight. I almost ordered a Kenmore http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...e=Freestanding at Sears yesterday but decided I better shop around first. Hoping to spend 600-650 or less...closer to 500 is even better.

I have had two electric ranges in the past and I am ready to move to gas. Main thing we are looking for is a 5 burner configuration (or center griddle). Any suggestions on brands good/bad that anybody has? Good places to buy from? I have heard Kenmore/Whirlpool makes good inexpensive ranges but their customer service is horrible.

Any suggestions/opinions you guys have would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Matt

Nothing to add in terms of what model to buy. But with any appliance purchase I try to support a Michigan business, Whirlpool. And I've been very happy with all my purchases. In gas ranges the Whirlpool family of brands are: Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag, and KitchenAid.

That was one of the main reasons I was looking at Whirlpool. Isn't Kenmore part of that group as well?
