coming from that state i can vouch that they take that shit extremely seriously. i got threatened with 4 months jail time for riding on public lands when i was 17. ended up paying $1200 fine. the worst part is the only state place to ride legally is a complete ripoff, and is complete garbage compared to the riding areas we have in MI.

it's ironic that the tree huggers are trying to protect the areas with the least amount of trees.

least amout of trees? you mean least amount of forest right? the city of newark covers a very small part of the state of NJ and the rest is very nice county homes, with lots and lots of trees.
However forest on the other hand, is a little harder to find in NJ, however I can see NY doing the same thing as NJ is trying to, and there are vast forest and lots of trees in NY.

either way you look at it. i personally hate NJ thats why i moved from there. it's overrun with arabs and hindus, or displaced new yorkers. give you an example. the place i used to go wheeling was 800 acres of public use land. meant for hikers, bikers, dog walkers, and hunting. it was also used for people to ride atvs and bikes. there was never a problem till a bunch of tree hugging hippies found out people were riding there. they went nuts on the township and did everything they could to keep people out. they said there reason was to keep open space and free land. yea well not more then a year later they built a housing complex and a school for special needs kids on there prized open space.
