Default norton 360

is this program worth anything?...rite now im running fire fox and have it setup that everything deletes when i close the program down. i also have malwarebytes and hijckthis. ever since having to reinstall windows because of gay midget porn and what not. (thought id add that before someone else did) Ive never had a problem with catching anything since...so should i just continue on my merry way or should i just add the program for extra security?

AVG Free

You need a program that offers real-time protection while your computer is on, Malwarebytes and Hijackthis won't do shit until you already have a problem.

I used to use norton, it really seemed to slow the system down, especially the boot time. I use AVG free now, been using it for 3 years, haven't had a virus yet.

Nay. Ever since AVG 8.0 came out it feels bloated and slow. Microsoft Security Essentials. Microsoft has really come through with this product. It is one of the top rated free ones on the market. Not to mention it beats out Norton and Mcafee.

I have a program for that too...
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_..._download.html

Goes through and finds all the little registry changes and everything and clears them out for you. Never use the built in uninstaller and Control Panels "add remove programs" misses ALOT of stuff that programs leave behind.

Use the free programs

AntiVir

Avast

AVG

These ranked as good or better than high dollar software. AntiVir is rated the best of free anti-virus software.

I didn't read any of the posts, but with my experiences with anything Norton is that it's a huge resource hog.

It wants to load its software everytime you boot your computer (can easily be disabled), but it takes a shitload of your RAM and Processor power when it's running, even if it's minimized and running in the background.

I run Linux, Windows, and OSX on my various machines, and even on my windows computer... I don't have any need for virus/malware protection. I only frequent a few trusted sites, don't download music/movies... and for porn, I only go to my reliable one-stop-shop (pornhub.com, and exgfpics.com/blog, I highly recommend them ). Haven't had a problem in years.

From what I hear, there are enough free malware/virus programs that'll suit you just fine, without the need to pay high "subscription" costs.

It's no secret.. but, if you're not trying to scam free porn and downloading illegal shit, general (trusted) web-browsing will not result in malware, trojan horses, or viruses.
Good luck

if you are downloading illegal software, use a private torrent. i run no anti-virus with W7 and have no issues.
