All I had to do was watch the intro to realize it was crap.

"Lets build a suburban into a paver/ roller to help fix detroits streets!"

Yeah, ah....no. Lets not.

Yeah, pretty awful show. I thought the discovery channel would have learned their lesson with Monster Garage.

how much depressing does detroit need to look, especially with the potholes shown. i've owned cars that wouldn't make it out of those.

I liked monster garage, it wasnt the best but it was still entertaining..
Junkyard wars kinda fell into the same catagory.

Im hoping it was a "first episode" thing and itll get better, but it might not.. lol

Junkyard wars was actually good, back when it was scrapheap (the BBC version before it was redone by discovery). After they got a whole new set of people on the show it turned into monster garage. Which is what theyre trying to recreate with this new show, only without a famous bike builder, and with an industrial feel.

Maybe we could pitch a show to Discovery called 'Booty Fab', where you try to make an awesome wheeler out of the junk in Kodiak450r's yard.

I also like Junkyard wars. It did start to annoy me when every engine/pump/lawnmower/etc they pulled out of the scrap yard always seemed to work perfect. Pretty unlikely in the real world.

I'm curious to see the new series Howe & Howe Tech on Discovery. Hopefully it isn't a let down. The Howe brothers built Ripsaw and that vehicle is just plain awesome no matter how you look at it!!

Yeah, it always bugged me that there was exactly the right kind of junk to build not just one, but three of every challenge.

At least one team should have gotten completely skunked once in a while.

I lost interest in it when they were making the airplanes. Someone found a sealed roll of mylar in the trunk of a car. WTF? Planting some useful items is one thing (like working lawn mowers and hydro pumps), but a cellophane sealed jumbo roll of mylar? Come on.

Yeah, I got tired of Junkyard Wars when the junkyard "stocking" got completely out of hand.
