Default I just sissy'd up my gun bag.

After my first time out with my new M&P, and being unable to load more than 10 rounds into my 15 round mags in the bitter cold, I finally realized I needed to break down and buy a magazine loader. I went in looking to pick up the typical lever operated mag loader, but my dealer turned me on to this universal unit. I was a bit skeptical at first, being I had never seen anything like it and that it was 3x's more than the other lever operated models, but boy am I glad I picked it up. It works FLAWLESSLY and with minimal effort. This thing is simply awesome.

I picked it up for $34 from Magnum Force in monroe. A bit steep IMO, but its built and works very well.

Ive gotten real good with the Factory Glock one they give you. When that thing breaks, this looks like it is in my future. Now to only decide kimber ultra carry or glock 17 gen 4 for the next pistol

Actually, MF was the cheapest I found for my M&P. That, and I really like Tim, and hope to see his shop stick around for many years to come.

I really like it. It feels much more comfortable in the hand than my sigma, and operates much better as well. I specifically wanted it so I could have the .357 sig cartridge (I like "non-standard" cartridges). The ability to have a fully integrated laser (Crimson Trace) was also a big plus. Even though its a bit heavy and designed to be a "duty" weapon, this is probably going to end up as my carry gun.

I bought one of these a while back, but I have never used it. I need to find one to use on AR mags...my hands were throbbing after trying to load up a few 30 rounders.

That looks like something I need to pick up, especially if I start shooting more. So have you been spending a lot of time at the gun range lately? I was out there last Saturday for about an hour, but it was too damn cold.

No, not at all really. I was out last week to see if my new M&P functioned correctly and havent been back since. I kind of feel bad, I promised to take my grandfather out after the holidays to shoot .22's. But I have either been too busy or its been too crappy out.

Im going to be there all day sunday. I have to attend the new members orientation at 2. If Im going to be there, I might as well bring the range bag.

Im actually debating whether or not to make a trip out to top gun so I can sight in the M&P at a more realistic range. I really hope we all can get on the ball this spring and finish the pistol range. 25 yards is a bit much for defensive pistol training. Id love to see some steel plinking targets out there too, but Im so new and young I dont feel right making suggestions like that.

Where are you guys shooting locally? I've had my name in at a few spots but I've been wait listed for almost a year now.

I've always had good experiences with MF, Tim's a good guy to talk to. Gotta finish off my AR so I can get out shooting that one of these days.

Monroe rod & gun. They will let you shoot while on the wait list.

Probably the one place I don't have my name in :)

I'm going to have to make a few calls and get shooting.

I just joined up at the Rod and gun club a few weekends back. You just need 2 sponsors, and $120 to become a member. Most of the time, if you head in there and BS with a few guys...they will let you use their name as a sponsor and you are all set. You will be a probationary member until January of 2011, but you have all of the benefits of being a full member besides being able to vote and buy beer from the bar (but other members can buy you beer). It is a pretty nice place, but there are a few additions that I would like to see like an indoor pistol range, and maybe a few "tactical" shooting courses.

You do know we have an indoor range, right?

But it is a .22 only range, and is only open during special events. Its in the basement of the clubhouse.

We might be able to petition for a new assault course sometime in the future once the old crowd begins to get mellowed out with the young group. The majority of the members are still +50, and are more pro-hunting. A good number of them scoff at black rifles.

MCRGC is and always was a shotgun based club. Too bad I dont own any. :D

Yeah, the bartender told us about the indoor range but he said it was basically only for the kids. If they scoff at black rifles, they are going to love me out there . I'm not big into shotguns either, I have 2...one home defense 870, and another 870 20 gauge for small game...but it hasn't been out of the safe in about 8 years. I would LOVE to see a 500+ yard range too, but they just don't have the property for that there. But I can't complain, 100 yards is better than nothing. I will probably spend most of my time at 25 and 50 yards with the .22's and .17 anyway...much cheaper to shoot than the .243 (my long-ranger).

100 yds was a godsend compared to where I was coming from (top gun), but yeah, Id love to see a 500yd range. 100 yards isnt really a challenge with my .243. After I put $20 worth of FMJ inside of a dime at 100yds, my H&R usually gets put back in the safe for another month or two.
