I have heard you can do this, but a few things come to mind.

First, I can clean mine in under 10 minutes. How long does it take for him to strip it, put it in the washer, then wait 30-40 minutes and come back. After all that he has to put it all back together. Entire process, 45-60 minutes.

Second, where does all of that lead residue go?? seems like a chance I am not willing to take.

Third, I enjoy molesting and inspecting my glock, how can you tell id anything is wrong by just tossing it in the washer.

Four, How does the barrel get cleaned?

I know some do it but I would rather take the 10 minutes to do it the old fashioned way.

I agree. That video is stupid. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. It won't do a good job at cleaning at all. Really, you could put any gun in a dishwasher. It'll do the same shitty job. Just because a Glock is plastic doesn't change the fact it has lots of metal parts inside. And the residue left from shooting often needs a stiff brush to clean off.
