They should have just charged him with taking money from the city. Thats the reasoning behind the law not "obstruction of "

hell, I've done that myself, while the "meter maid" was standing there...she said something to the effect of "thats pretty nice of you", and continued on her way

course, that was several years ago, when the country was much less of a douchebag-filled place to live

He seems like a nice guy. He didn't run away after he knew she called the police. It really sounds like the meter maid was just being a bitch because he told her he didn't think what she did was very nice. I have personally had to use parking meters several times and not been able to get back to the meter in time for legitimate reasons. A time or two I came back to find that some nice person has put in a quarter for me and saved me a $20-30 ticket.

As if being taxed out the wazoo on everything under the sun isn't quite enough, $20 parking tickets are just a slap in the face for the purpose of generating revenue for the city.

I think it's bullshit. It shouldn't matter who pays for the parking as long as it's paid.

It seems like one form of media or the other brings us a story of a mad man or woman shoving quarters into unsuspecting parking meters at least once a year.

Its sad that doing a nice thing like this for someone else and land your ass in the klink.

I'm assuming it has to do with money. They make more money giving someone a ticket than receiving 25 cents to a meter.

Lesson #1: Do not stalk the metermaids
Lesson #2: Do not be a smart ass to cops after stalking the metermaids

City Councilor Mike Clark agrees. "At the end of the day, I think it's a good idea to try and do the Good Samaritan type of thing that he was doing, but it's a bad idea to harass and follow people down the street when you're mad about it," said Clark. "You don't get to yell and you don't get to threaten city employees, even if they behave dumb or mean."
