There is a board in Lansing that you can plead your case to. I know a deaf mute that has his class A CDL.

I would think it would matter as to which Class, what kind of Vehicle you're driving, and what you're driving it for. I've also heard of a Deaf Mute guy having a CDL for limited driving to do his job.

As far as points goes, This is from the CDL manual we have here at the Bus Garage. Under "What are the Driving record eligibility requirements"

Quote:
Conviction of any Six point violation in the 24 months immediately preceding application. Conviction for operating a commercial motor vehicle while impared in the 24 months immediately preceding application.
I'd show you the website, but I'm just too lazy. Go to www.Michigan.Gov/sos and Type in "Commercial Driver License Manual

All the information I got was form the second or third page.

i really doubt it and as a class A cdl driver myself i don't think it would be a good idea to drive a semi while blind in one eye, no offense i hope.

i 2nd that. i'm preparing to take my CDL tests and i have driven our semi at work and it is hard enough to see with both eyes where your backing a trailer into, let alone if you have less then 100% vision.

I don't think I could insure a driver that's blind in one eye! I don't think that you could pass the dot physical, you could find the answer to this just by calling your family doc and asking him. If he doesn't do dot physicals then google concentra and call them for the answer.
