Default Heps with choosing a center speaker for my HT...

Amp is this:

Link to manual in PDF

Power Output:
Frequency Response:5 x 80 watts @ 8 ohms
FTC: 20 - 20kHz, .03% THD, All Channels Driven
5 x 110 watts @ 4 ohms
FTC: 20 - 20kHz, .03% THD, All Channels Driven

High Current Capability: 73 Amps

Problem is now that I have a blu ray player, I have overdriven two center channel speakers, the last one was a temporary fix till I found a new CC. It is an old bookshelf speaker (Advent Ruby) rated for 110W RMS. Took out the woofer last night with the latest X-men movie.

Any suggestions? I'm using a pair of Jamo E855's for my front speakers and love them. Thinking of picking up the matching center (hard to find, one of the last series still made in Denmark).

Go check out the "home theater" magazine, it is the 2010 buyers guide with 4000+ items in it and at least 200 center speakers listed by brand.

Does your processor put out full range all channels? Or does it have a crossover that sends from like 80Hz down to your sub?

Never listened to it, but they get good reviews, Definitive Technology Mythos Seven 60-30K, 8ohm, 89db 1w/1m 175W recommended power 5 year warranty.

I'll be heading to a Def Tech dealer in Saginaw on friday (one in Ann Arbor is a Best Buy affiliated store so screw them) So I can possibly check it out if you are interested.

I believe it puts out full range to the fronts and center - it is an ancient hk AVR20mkII sending line level signals to my PA5800.

Well,
I think I was asking old speakers to do too much work with the audio bandwidth that comes from blu-ray. On both speakers, the foam surrounds are shredded.

I ended up ordering a Jamo C60CEN to "match" my Jamo E855's.

And perhaps a hk AVR 347 to get in the digital age. My AVR20mkII can spend its retirement in the garage (with repaired Advent bookshelf speakers )
