I know this competition is not for just anybody.

I know there are people here that build'em to beat the crap out of them. Come beat the crap out of it and get paid....and cheered on.
You know who they are and what their trucks look like. If this is not for you perhaps forward it to someone it may be just right for and then come and watch.
With the relationship we have with the Dome we have the means to make this a reoccurring event and to some that will be interesting and even lucrative.

We are truly trying to create an opportunity and a very entertaining sport born in the "Motor City".
If we get the vehicles we roll out right away.
Could even be the inaugural event for the "new" Dome.

P.S. Jump will be a low, built for distance not height.

Entry fee is primarily a deposit to save your space and to guarantee show up..... mostly refundable.

For payout see thread opening. event is insured, your rig is not. we will provide "hold harmless" contracts.

You look like a winner. Seen a couple ugly old broncos around town that might give you a run for the money.

You provide me with a description of event and how it works and course layout, reasonable prize structure and PARTICIPANTS.
I can possibly help you out.

Didn't mean to diss on you but I think you'll find the majority don't have the funds to beat the crap out of their stuff in a race especially when the sponsor (you) is asking for carnage. It's not like everyone has a demolition derby rig.

I hope you can pull it off.

a little side by side rubbing.....sounds like a snow mobile meets local stock car (dirt track) racing for 4x4's.

I dont think anyone has thought this threw very well. You want a bunch of rednecks in POS'es to install a roll bar and Jump and crash their rigs while racing. Can we all say LAW SUIT!!! This has the making of good event with special trucks built for the sport,BUT not for the back yard wheeler. I wish you all the luck and will come and watch the first one and maybe do some sponsoring and advertising at the park for you.
I will keep looking in this post see see any change

Has anyone considered what is going to happen when the two finalists get lined up and one is similarly built to rhino ZJ's monster truck and the other is built like lastmanstandin's vehicle and he gets run over, quite literally, as they are "rubbing" on the last stretch?

A key to a successful series is to base it on another event or series that has been successful over the years but to change it just enough to create it's own style.

i.e. desert racing+rock crawling=KOH, arguably the biggest craze to ever hit our type of motorsports recreation.

If you took out the contact, made seperate courses and ran a timed event (basically XRRA in a parking lot or in doors) then you would have a LOT of people signing up. Wrecking a $10-20-40-50k rig is not going to get you many people lined up.

If you dont know what any of the events I have mentioned are then you should do some "market research" and find out what's successful.

I think this might work for me. A few more details and I am pretty sure that I will be in. Really would help top have an approximate date though as I will be gone most olf Feb. and would need some time to prep for this. Like buy something to race. That is not what I consider to be a big deal though. If you could PM me a few more details that would be great.

I think you might be surprised, I've done a little work to my XJ
I run in the demolition derby here every year and this sounds like it might be similar.
And I'm not worried about my XJ, I'll just buy another one when this one is dead...I think I have the perfect rig for this contest......one I can scrap when done.

I knew there would be some interest. Keep'em coming. We got 4 potential competitors in like 2 days. This will be more exciting than any Monster truck thingamajig because it's all real competition with a cash prize on the line.

Monster truck meets Tuff truck meets short track racing.

I anticipate the desire to preserve a "rig" will be battling with the desire to win. Side to side contact will only be possible for a short portion of track after vehicles are oriented parallel. I'm thinkin' it wont be ready for junking anyway, it will be prepped for next race.

Semi good looking vehicles will be attractive to sponsors. It may be worth the new fenders and door skins. With this level of excitement, I anticipate excellent growth opportunity.

Alot of the 4x4 jambos put on a rock crawl, sand drags, a show n shine, maybe a split course tuff truck, the contact thing is whats gonna kill you with most ppl. Anyways, with the majority of the large 4wheel shops bein in your neck of the woods, it wouldnt be hard to get alot of interest in this. To the best of my knowledge, besides the Jeep Blessing, there really isnt any large events around.
