Default Remote Start Help!!!

I got a remote start for christmas, tried to install it myself and its not working correctly. A few things do work, like the lights, horn, and the first stage of ignition, but the truck wont start and door locks dont work from the remote. If anyone has experience installing these things and is looking for some extra cash (or beer) please let me know. Ive tried asking the local stores for help and either got turned away because I didnt buy it from them or because i already started the install. Its a bulldog security/remote start. and im putting it in a 03 Dakota.

If it's anything like the Ford PATS system, you'll have to take it to the dealer to have them program the remote, and you might also need a bypass for the Secure Key or Theftloc, or whatever it is that Dodge calls their system. Usually this involves an add-on module that either acts like another key.

Thanks man, that should help out alot. What about the door locks? The instructions have a blue and a green that need to be connected to a wire that operates the locks.

Go to the bulldog website and look up the info they have for your truck. They will have diagrams and written instructions on where to find the wires that you need.

We tried the bulldog site. The wiring diagrams they have for the model remote starter aren't the same. Like the one he has is an older version or something.

One of the diagrams we found show resistors in line, we tried that and they still didn't work. I think that we may have been sending power to it not ground. Maybe that would make it work.
