I think that what ever is chosen will be great! Cgleen I don't think you under stand the time and effort that whiterino puts into these. For people to start saying that so should do everything in different colors. I think that people need to maybe help with these if you are going to start wanting more options out there!

how about this but but stained the opposite for next year, the skull light and the cut-outs stained dark?

or maybe dark skull with a red stain for the cut-outs? anyways i think they look great the way they were done this year.

I like the dark stain a lot Jim! Especially with the grain coming through like that. I did a couple of shelves and a picture frame out of oak and did the same thing, and I love it!! Good work buddy!!!

(Maybe I can win one some day.... if i am lucky that is...lol)

I like the oak 2009 awards, but if I was going to suggest a change it would be to use a darker stain that 2009, but not so dark as 2010, on the oak.

Multi colored powder coating is an idea but I dont think it needs to be that involved. Why not a 1/8" plate with the black area of the wood as the metal, the rest would be air. It could be done pretty easily and for about the same cost as wood.

I like the wood ones though, they look more professional as an award.

Thanks all for the input. To be honest, the SoFo guys may want to do something totally different next year. If I keep doing them, I promise they will be different each year.

Doing the reverse contrasting is possible. It takes a little creativity but it can be done.

Maybe if you want something different every year, I think the dark ones are nice but maybe go just a little lighter on the color ??

Why not flame the front instead of stain... I am sure the guy that won the torch would be willing to help!
