Naw, you could take less, and new species would evolve based on their new environment.

er, wait, nevermind.

This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high.

So, what is your take on the "new" evidence found that it was round? Who is right? (seriously, I just wonder what your opinion is)

Well, that actually is a good point. Since science has shown that all the land was once connected (pangea), but this is millions of years ago.

I'm pretty sure the ark was built 4000 years ago (2000 BC?), so I would think that the continents had already split apart, and the polar bears were in the north, and the penguins were in the south.

Genesis 5:32 tells us that Noah was 500 years old when he fathered three kids, so we know Noah was pretty smart, after all, he was 500 or 600 years old when he built the ark so he very well could have had time to build some sort of a transportation device to travel all over the world.

But here is the two problems I have. According to genesis 77:11-15, all the animals were loaded in a 24 hour span. There are what, 29 million land dwelling organisms documented right now (and since evolution doesn't exist, these had to be from the ark) which means noah had to load these organisms at a rate of 450 per second, and I believe he only had help from his three sons (which he had when he was 500 years old).

Then what about diseases? There are many diseases that only effect humans. How did these diseases last on the ark without killing him and his family?

Also, there are 10,203 different varieties of documented termites. When he had all those on the boat (20,406 total, don't forget about pairs), I'm curious why they didn't eat the boat.

This makes me think the boat was made from some synthetic material, which was lightweight, and probably lab made, as to displace huge amounts of water yet strong enough to hold the estimated 37 billion pounds of animals that were on the ark.

Dude, none of that matters, it comes down to faith, the idea that you can believe something DESPITE all contradictory evidence.

I don't like that answer, as that is not logical. I want to hear something that makes me think it was even a slightly plausible event.

I actually don't see it changing my views on the biblical ark. To be honest. The tablet is Babylonian and is describing a completely different Deity and story then is in the bible. Sure, If this was all a story or allegory for the the beginning of time, I could see the Hebrew writers steeling off this idea, Or Visa versa.

What I do see is this possibly implicating that maybe both stories originally came from stories of past generations (through oral Tradition, not a telephone game though) about a great flood throughout the World. Meaning that there could have been an actually great flood and both civilizations had oral stories about it that never gotten written down. This Tablet, and the Hebrew writings, could be the people of that time using an Allegorical story to explain where they came from with out loosing the oral histories of a (possible) great flood. That's just what I think.

Is there really that many Species? We're talking base species here, not just every animal you see. Macro Evolution doesn't work, but Micro evolution can be seen every day. So you would only have to have the base set of species and then adaptations of those species are what we see today. Dogs are one good example, There are thousands of breeds, but only because humans have created those breeds. You wouldn't need all of them on the ark.

Quote:

They mutated, just like they do now. With that logic wouldn't one of the family members have to had cancer?

Once agian, Base species here, Varieties occur with adaption.

Like I've said before, I wasn't there, which is a good thing. I wouldn't have wanted to be. We can only speculate about if it happened or not and how it was possible. And I can Honestly tell you that I don't think every single Species of animal we have today was alive back then. Alot of your info is based solely on that. To a Degree it does require faith, but to another degree it seems to me to be plausible. The only way to figure it out would be to spend Trillions of dollars on an "ark" project and build it to specs and see if it floats. Not to mention having to deal with Animal Rights groups about housing animals in cells that aren't "suitable" for them.

I'm being serious here..

So Christians believe in evolution, but in smaller steps then proven evolution?

So where do you disagree with scientists in the following charts. Just give me an example so I can learn. Click the links above the image for the full versions.

Noah must be Santa
1. Noah loaded the world’s population in 24 hours. Santa Delivers presents to all the worlds children in one night
2. Noah 500+ years old. Santa is super old.
3. Noah had a boat that could hold all the animals and food. Santa has a bag that holds all the presents.
4. Noah no one believed in him until too late. Santa kids don't believe until they get presents.
5. Noah did not let the animals eat each other. Santa did not let the puppies eat the candy.

Feel free to add any other similarities I may have missed.

I want to know how Noah died..

according to genesis 9:29 he died when he was 950 years old. I want to know what could kill a man who was that old. That was one hell of a heart in that man!

What proven evolution are you talking about, and how do we relate this to the theory of evolution, also are you representing the charts as theory or law, and if it's law then let us see the proof that makes it law and not theory.

I think it's funny to think about in the not to far off future a similar discussion will be taking place and somebody will be saying how smart Al Gore was and how he proved global warming.

The earth will more than likely be half froze over by then, but there will be some guy with an Al Gore chart asking if anybody disagrees with it.

so are you stating that you do not believe carbon dating is reliable, even though it has been proven to be accurate up to 60,000 years?

Yes, you will probably find websites that state its only accurate up to 4,000 years, but I'm sure it will have "religion" or "jesus" in the url.

You start out with your being serious, me to. I ask for proof of the parts of evolution you are talking about as law, carbon dating ages things it doesn't show how they are related or how one evolved into another. Furthermore carbon dating has nothing to do with the charts you showed or the evolution represented on the charts.
I thought I asked a simple question.

the evidence for a world flood is all over the place.

here is a snipped from Genesis 6 with instructions for the boat, I don't know where the evidence points to it being circular!

"So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. Make a roof for it and finish the ark to within 18 inches of the top. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks. "

I bet when the comet hit (the one that killed the dinosaurs) it displaced the oceans unto land, like a giant tsunami.

However, you can't just make matter, and there is not enough water in the oceans to cover the deepest mountains.
