who knows if we get luck they will eat Zebra muscles & lampry?
But by the time it gets to that point, all the other types of fishing that we had will pretty much be non-existent. I like bass fishing, dammit!

Screw the Bass, they will be safe in the inland lakes. The Salmon Steelhead fishery is what I fear will be destroyed

does anyone have an article based on science of what these fish do to survive? I am just curious as to why the fed seems to think its ok to turn their backs on our fisheries?

Not entirely. A couple of the lakes I fish are all connected to the Great Lakes by rivers, mostly coming from the Saginaw Bay. Hopefully there are some dams between them, but they're still connected. I'm sure theres more than just the few I looked at too.

Your correct about that including one of the best Smallmouth lakes, Lake St. Clair. I just get really pissed after all the work that has been done turning the Great Lakes into a "world class" salmon and steelhead fishery that they are just going to piss it away

Its funny how we can introduce a invasive species, make a industry around it, hire law enforcement to protect that species, and even close down trail systems to protect that species breeding habitat. Fuck michigan, Florida has better fishing anyways.

If I saw a 30' snake I would kill it, eat it and make a suit out of its hide.

Nonsense, waiting till the last minute and then letting corporate interest reign will remain the m.o.
With the latest Supreme Court ruling, expect this type of thing to balloon.

We can declare the Atlantic Ocean (or key parts of it near Kennedy-owned properties) to be "historic sites" to protect them - but give no thought to protecting the Great Lakes from an invasive species. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...763782540.html

Also note that the federal government (to satisfy an influential democrat Senator) has passed legislation declaring Lake Champlain to be one of the great lakes so as to share in any monies made available for the "real" great lakes...
