Instead, turn it sloooowly counterclockwise about 1/4 turn then wait 5-10 seconds. Repeat until it's fully opened.

I don't remember all the technical shit about it, but there is a safety valve in the lines to regulate the flow of propane incase of a break in the line or what not. When it's cold as shit outside and you open the tank quickly, that valve doesn't properly open, so it does its job regulating the flow of the propane, hence the tiny flame.

I have never tried that I usaully just flip the propane tank over for 10-15 minutes and it will deffinately kick the flame up.

I think you guys have given me incentive enough to drag out my Brinkman Smoker. great big wood fired bastard. I wish I had a wood stove in the house, it would give me an excuse to get my skillets out

I grill out at least once a week. The grill sits out on the back deck. I grill in shorts and flip flops. Have to go out and shovel the deck then go back and forth so I don't freeze to death! lol

Year round!! I grilled some ny ss just yesterday! Charcoal is the only way to go if your using propane you might as well use your oven and broil your food.

I miss grilling. I'm on the ground floor of an apartment complex with no immediate access outside.

I used to live in an apartment in Auburn Hills, and there were picnic tables behind the building. I would go out there and grill all year round. Girls across the hall from us thought I was nuts to be out there. Until they realized I was from the UP! LOL

I grill in the winter, but the grill's in the garage, so it's easy.
