you dont want a TOW strap, you want a SNATCH strap (he said snatch) or RECOVERY strap. there is a huge difference...also, get one properly sized for your vehicle and its mods, bigger isnt always better.

search, there is lots of info

if you cant afford it, save some money till you can, go shovel some sidewalks for the elderly couple down the road, do some chores for mommy and daddy, whatever, but dont try to be cheap when it concerns possibly losing your life or someone elses.

some things can be skimped on, safety is not one of them

what do you guys prefer a looped at both end tow strap or a recovery/ snatch strap, i'm pretty sure no one i have met has owned a snatch strap but as my buddy ruined my last strap so i am in the market again and want to buy the better tool for the job. i'd like to see a snatch strap in action or get tugged by one

a tow strap is for towing, not recovery...a snatch strap or recovery strap will have a loop at both ends...never use any strap that has metal hooks on the ends as a recovery strap (that would be a tow strap)...also, never, EVER hook two straps togethor with a shackle, or any other piece of metal.

search this site, there is lots of info on how to choose and use the correct strap for extraction.

If you can't afford to buy a nice new rope, how can you afford to go wheeling in the the first place?

and x1000 about getting a snatch rope versus a tow strap

Pick up a 4" wide strap at TSC (Tractor Supply Company). Stop being a cheap. If you can't afford a strap, then stay on the pavement.
