Default s10 trail truck RESURRECTED

well got bored with drivin on roads so i decided to build me another trail truck. so i took my 1998 s10 2wd and started bulidin. Here is the plans for right now.

Dana 60's front and rear 4.10 gears for now rear disk conversion
yj 4 inch lift springs up front with 4 inch shackles
63 inch spring in the rear with 7 inch shackles
strech the front 6 inchs so i dont have to cut the cab up
stretched the rear 5 inchs for depature angle wb is 123 now
40 inch tiroks
6.0l with built turbo 350 and np205
make a bed cage and bob the box
comp cut the front fenders
make shock hoops and get 14.5 travel porc shocks
twin stick the 205
bumper with stinger
find srw hubs or machine down my drw hubs

future plans
trade the 406 for a 6.0 or ls3,ls6
either low max 3.1 or doubler havent decided
double triangled 4 link rear with coilover air shocks
either 3 link or double triangled 4 link with coilover air shocks in front
full cage inside and out
12000 pound winch
onboard air so i can run air tools for when i break and or other people break
suspension seats with 5 points
weld on beadlocks

progress before i started this thread was front and rear leafs mocked up front frame extinsions mocked up boxed the frame and added a pull point in the back. got the dana 60's under it now watin for perches, under frame swing shackles mounts, and my dana 60 spring plate to show up just ordered from dan at ruffstuff should be here monday . going to make trans crossmenber tommorw and mock up for twin stick

if you want help with the onboard air let me know, i did a full writeup on another site and would be willing to help ya out. plus i need someone to test a prototype part(that will save you $90)

thanks speedy2222 but the onboard air project wont be for a while just tryin to get it runnin first but thanks

also i got the motor trans, transfer case in today made a new crossmeamber and i had a stock front drive shaft out of an 1985 chevy that amazliny fit in the front perfect to bad i have to cut it up so i can put in a longer slip shaft. Dose anybody know where i can get a longer slipshaft for the front i pm mclovin to see where he gotr the parts for his f-dshaft he said he used a pto shaft from a tractor and he wouldent recommend it if i have a lot of power because he allready twisted his sorry no pics my camera broke

got my parts from ruffstuff today and put the spring plate on and assembled the swing shackle mounts sorry pics later forgot my camera.

started mounting the front swing schakle mounts and they enden up landing on the curve of the frame dam it hate when that happens. now i have to fiqure out a new way to mount them so i dont have to booty fab it and weld 1/2 inch gaps. will get pics tommorw so i can get ur guys advice. wish i had money i would just 4 link the front and be done but thats expensive. o well later days. for now i need a

got any pics of the area you're talking about?? sounds like your best bet would be to make a perch for that shackle mount to weld to..

thanks mclovin y didnt i think of that but anyway after my brain fart i made the perch for the swing shakle mount and finished the front suspension. i also got the front hubs machine by samurai2240 . and put those on. i also might have the 406 traded for a 6.0 with 4l80e and t-case out of a 2500 hd with wiring and computer and gas pedal sorry still havent got a camera over there yet.

here's how i did my perch with mine i had have the shackle mount inboard of the frame a little bit so i made this..

just traded the 406 for a 6.0 4l80e and 261 hd t-case with wiring harness, steering colume, full exhaust, gas tank, ecm, bcm, bacially the whole drivetrain minus axles. Even got the d-shafts. not that i will use all that shit anyways. probably just the motor harness ecm and gas tank but what the hell. i think im gunna buy a camera this week so i can get some pics up here my thread is lookin kinda boring.

finally got to work on the truck again got the drive train in the front clip mocked up and some other random stuff. gunna cut the front leaf spring mount of and run some yj leafs so the mount dosent hang down so far it bugs me and would probably hang me up alot. also got some new tires and rims 40-13.50-16 iroks with 50% tread. ordered headers and built motor mounts

well cut off the big front mount and made a slimmer version using 4 inch lift yj springs. now i need to order my degree shims to get my pinion angle right. should hopefully have the frame completely welded and painted by this weekend. then i can start final assembly. sorry crappy phone pics
