Go to "axle tech" they have a gear ratio calculator on there, right around 4.56's will bring you back to near stock ratio's if you run 35' tires.

If you're not going to wheel it why bother lifting it? Sounds like you're ready to drop over 3 grand to make your truck suck a lot more gas and ride worse just so it looks cool. If you decide to lift it go out and watch/help/play wrench bitch or whatever, just start learning to work on your truck it will help you out a lot

im going with the 6.5" bds high clearance lift and 35" cooper st's on soft 8's. total cost will be $3400. as for gears i have a 5.3L vortec with the tow haul package so it has 3.73 gears i believe so ill be fine with out re gearing.

i go to unlimited offroad for anything i might need. I might go out a little bit at the mounds with the truck but what you guys don't understand is this is my 9k truck that i dd and its my only vehicle. just because when im done with the lift i don't want to go jumping it at silver lake or driving it under water doesn't mean the lift is useless.

You're going to like that one. I've done quite a few of those kits. No torsion drop. Good ride and still drives like stock.

I'm surprised I haven't seen a SAS with leafs as a suggestion, but then you have to get the axle under it strait, and buy an axle, and cobble the stearing together and get a real drive shaft.

What ever you think then.....but the chart have never steered me or my friends wrong!!

Mines kinda the same set up as your gonna be running but in a blazer. 4" lift 35" tires 5.7 vortec w/ turbo 350 tranny. To get back to near factory they recommend 4.56's.

Here's another website that says the same thing....Find new Gear Ratio with new tire size

A little better mileage but there will be no get up and go & be way under powered!! So it would be like having a 4cyl. engine in it

sounds like you just want to hurry up and make it look cool for the mall, and push the other important things away.

um? yeah since im 18 and make a 100 bucks a week i don't plan on doing much else with my 9,000 dollar truck then driving to school, mall, etc. Jarred at Offroad Unlimited says i don't need to re gear and if i notice huge power loss then i will, otherwise i don't really give a shit if i cant throw my head back into the rest when i put the peddle to the floor. Its a 5.3 Vortec give me a break.
