I'd take out all of the little bolts and Loctite them. I've had 15 dollar knives that never had the bolts fall out, I'd expect better from Kershaw. But they arent the only knives I've had to Loctite, so I just do it to them all from now on.

My brother carries SOG and likes it alot. He's got alot of knives and seems to always go back to the SOG

My Dad Carries a Benchmade folder. He carried a Benchmade fixed in Iraq.

Couple of friends carry Kershaws.

Personally, I think alot of it is personally preference. I'd carry a kershaw cause they are alittle thinner the the benchmades and SOG that I've seen.

In my opionion, the Kershaw knife is the only way to go!!!!

I have carried nothing but a Kershaw knife for the past 10 years..... The high quality steel used for the blade holds an edge extremely well, but it takes a little bit longer to sharpen which is to be expected..... I have used my knife for just about everything.... from field dressing & butchering big & Small game, to carving the aluminum housing on my carburator to make a bolt fit to shaving a dudes head to get a tattoo.... (yeah, its a long story)

The "Onion" knives are great knives but a bit small for what I'd use it for..... I have had this knife for the past 5 years and use it all the time!... Kershaw's "The Blur" http://www.kershawknives.com/product...&brand=kershaw

.... Yeah, it is a bit pricy, but if I don't lose it, I'll have it for at least another 5 years! so for me, the $99 is a great price....

I know a lot of people like the serrated blades, but I keep my knives razor sharp so I have no reason to have a blade with serration.... (some will argue with me on that point, but I just don't like serrated blades!).... besides, a serrated blade makes it hard to shave!

I hope this helps!

Side note: I carried the S.O.G. Tech Bowie - http://sogknives.com/store/S10B.html when I was on my 49 state tour..... it performed flawlessly from removing slivers to performing as a make shift tent stake to skinning & dressing a fox that I hit in Washington State!

I had a silver kershaw chive for a few years, great little knife. Only issue was some of the bolts coming out like Rebel2345 mentioned. I actually had that one for around 2 years, which is a long time for me....I always seem to misplace them. I'm going to replace it after Christmas with another chive, but I kinda like the looks of the new black one:

I'll never carry another until I find another just like it. You made a good choice. I let a buddy borrow my knife one time and he threw it at a concrete floor thinking it would stick (wood base under carpet) well the tip broke off and I talked to Kershaw customer care and they told me to send the knife in, they sent me a brand new one out a week later.

When you get it, let me know how it feels in your hand. Does it have a good grip?

I like the looks of the one you bought and the price, but i want to know if it has a decent grip> i have picked up some before and they seem like they want to slide out of your hand, as soon as you put them to use

that is why I bought it, people were saying even if your hand was covered in oil, the grip is still sticky
