screw you!!! ha. yes i worked at auto zone and the worst thing in the world is the fact that people come in usually with a bad attitude. there mad they have to be there to buy parts that they dont wana spend money on, and there generally pissed that some kid is selling them the part. but there attitude generally changes when you can tell them exactly what to do and it works. there were alot of the guys that i worked with that had no clue what was goin on. no i do not know everything very far from it, and im not above telling someone i dont know but some are just parts fetchers and have no idea when to admit they just dont know.

had to test all the one wire alternators that the one out by me had. put a one bad one on, took it back, and they only had like one out of five that was actually good

I have very few faults with Autozone.

I tell them what i need, they bring and/or order the part. I install the part and it works.

Just never buy anything that says "valuecraft" on it.

I don't have too much of a problem with Auto Zone. They did give me a bad starter one time but now I just ask them to test it before I leave. I usually call around places for the best price and availability before I start a job. A few calls can save you a ton of money on a bigger job.

I'll only buy oil, filters and a few small items (no parts).
AholeZone by me (60th and Kalamazoo in Kentwood).
Had them check a bettery for me once and they assured me it was good.
Spent a bunch of time looking for where the problem could possibly be.
Finally gave up and brought it to the dealer.
Dealer said it was the battery, replaced it, no more problems.
If AZ would have tested the battery properly it would have saved me a lot of time and aggrivation.

BTW
I get the discount at NAPA just for asking for it.
Only thing is NAPA is 4 miles further away than AZ.

Never really had an issue with Autozone. It's all in the employees though. I know almost all of them at the one I go to so they are always super helpful if I'm stumped.

The other stores in Toledo are hit and miss.

And Napa is AWEFUL. They are the rudest people in the world and carry the "I know it all and you're incorrect" attitude every time I go in there and I can't tell you how many times they want to argue with me over a part or give me the wrong stuff. I never go there anymore.

I deal with Napa, Advance, and Carquest (usually in that order) but I dont buy batteries from any of them, only because I get a better price buying them through work.

I use NAPA and AZ by us solely. I have been to Advance exactly once and got the correct part. We were working on my buddies Dodge Ram and he goes there because they seem to stock the most Dodge stuff... but every part he bought was the wrong one. We had to take back about 7 parts because they couldn't get it right. I don't even bother calling there for prices now.

I have had Autozone open for me after they closed once, and on another occasion they stayed open when I called them waiting for me. I sent a nice letter to corporate after that, one guy I believe he is the night manager used to build/play with Jeeps too, so he is quite willing to help. I don't buy anything electrical there IE sensors there though.

Experience with them has just been okay. Did have some issues with a battery (DL Gold) under warranty that they finally replaced after I chewed the a-hole a new one. I pretty much exclusively go to Kenowa Auto Parts, which I think is an auto-value place. Guys are nice, knowledgeable and prices are good too.

his name is Adam...he is the only person there I would deal with, if I ever went there. Havent talked to him in a while, but I beleive he was getting into lowriders instead.

see, I even know employees on a personal basis, and still wont deal with that store unless I am forced to.

never had an issue getting the wrong part from Advance...but I know all of the employees there as well, except for the newbies that dont stay long anyway (every store has them)

the owner of the Napa store wanted to set me up an account, so I could have parts delivered and just pay a total bill at the end of the month...I wasnt going for that though.

autozone is refered to as "Discount auto parts" for a reason.. even when they get the part right they suck and dont last.. to go car quest and buy a quality part

Autozone keeps me happy down here in Toledo. I'm in there enough they know me pretty well and give me their employee discount on most of my purchases.

The other weekend I called around looking for a rebuild kit for my carb and Napa didn't have it but O'Reilly said they did, but Autozone was closest so I stopped there first. I went in back to get something and by the time I came up front, they had already called O'Reilly and had a kit on hold for me to go pick up since they didn't have it. Talk about service.
