On all of my past DD's, trucks and SUV's (for the past 13 years), I've gone through 3 sets of 31" bfg at's and 1 set of 31" bfg mt's, not a single problem. Love them and plan running them for years to come.

It's a bummer you happen to have an issue. But you wife probably nailed something HUGE and I'm sure she need's an alignment now, and I bet even with some belt coming through they would have ran another 30K miles.

LONG LIVE THE BFG AT!!!!!

I have had several sets of BFG tires, and I have had great luck with them.

You got a shitty set, sorry about your luck. It didn't take long to get to the point in this thread that you shouldn't blame the manufacturer for a bad set of used tires. If I bought an old ass cheap Cadillac that appeared to be in good shape with a ton of miles on it, and it broke down, I wouldn't swear off new Cadillacs forever.

As with many folks on here, your logic is flawed.

got me some BFG A/T's last year 90-100% tread only 500 or so miles drivin on them. had them last winter did great and this year there at about 50-60% tread and still doing great hold air and get me everywere i wanna go. and ive hit my fair share of curbs and the tires just keep on holdin air. i had dunlap radial rovers before the BFG's they were ok but only lasted 25-30K

I had major belt issues with those back in the 70s. Ah, the memories.

Everyone has there horror story's, but I myself have had 4 sets of BFG's and on my 5th set right now, (bought new with free replacement coverage) and I love them, Ive beat the sh*t out of them and had flats , side wall puncktures and they have always treated me good and didnt cost me a dime to fix. I think maybe you got some retreads or just had really bad luck. But everyone I know including me loves them !! I just think you had bad luck thats all !! But hey I know how you feel ecspeacially with the kids and all , but I personally love them !! Now watch, I probably just jinxed myself and I'll wakre up with a flat tomorrow. lol

I forgot about this thread.

My brother recently brought his TJ over to do a little maintenance on it. He mention his two of his brand new BFG's have been going flat over the coarse of a week or so ever since he bought them the month before. We checked them out, thinking it was the beads or maybe the valve stem.

There were dozens of pinholes in his tires. Along the tread and the sidewalls. No nails or anything. He was a little pissed off.

I actually hate BFGs (other than my stickies). My old powerstroke ate through BFG ATs and I have had/witnessed way too many bead leaks from sand/mud than anyone would believe. I would like to try MRTs, but I wouldn't buy ATs/MTs again. Much happier with much cheaper tires like cooper, yokohama, Dunlop, etc

I just sent her to get some new Cooper ST's...IMO a far better tire, I had them before and they take a lickin and keep on tickin. 4 new tires $530 installed with road hazzard. Tires is the last thing I want to worry about when she has all the kids doing 70mph down the highway!
BFG AT's are just not as great as when they came out 30 years ago

I dislike AT tires period but the BFG AT i dislike the most, i got stuck the most with them tires BFG AT's

I run MT's MTR's Super Traction's Extra Grip's Super Grips extra traction's ECT . . . "If they ain't howling then i'm getting stuck" is my tire buying moto !

FWIW I did replace all 4 tires with new Cooper ST's and love em...they are wearing great and and do a good job in deep snow and our extremely muddy driveway. I will say the BFG's had a little more traction on hard packed snow and ice though but not enough to be a concern. In deep snow, slush, mud ect the Coopers shine compared to the BFG's.

you ever think its because your powerstroke weighs like 6000lbs compared to a ~3000lb jeep?
