glad to see you got your jeep out to beat on it.

I definetly like the e-locker a lot. way less components to fail compared to ARB (not that I'm saying those are a bad option, just not my preference) you should keep an eye out on Ebay, they sometimes pop up on their. I plan on replacing my spool some day with another e-locker, but that probably won't be until about 2010 when my wallet recovers. Since you're looking for the front end something to consider why/why not to get a detroit is steering, unless you have hydro or hydro assist steering a detroit will suck when wheeling, I always disengage my front end if I don't need it so that I can steer better and not kill my pump. There's been plenty of times that I simply can't turn the wheel because the pump is being pushed to hard when I'm all flexed out/climbing.

Why would you want to wheel with these guys? I have the ARB's and the idea is awsome they just have a lot of parts to go wrong. No major problems yet but you have to keep spare solonoids and line repair kits.

James you better get another tail light in before this weekend so we can add to the collection of broken ones.

Owner has it back and is supposed putting finishing touches on it, he's suppose to be heading to Easter Jeep Safari with it for it's maiden voyage.

back from the dead.....last summer I decided to replace my overly worn out 39.5 tsl's with 43 tsl sx's. I put in a few trips with the 43's but of course the local trips where you let loose did me in....2 trips in a row to R&V I took out R&P's, 1st was the rear, 2nd was the front (front has been untouched since 6 years ago, not bad for the thrashings I've put it thru).....time for an upgrade to handle the 43's though.

Front spilling it's beans at R&V

the front D60 aluminum rock jock housing was toasted completely, spit the gears into the housing left a good 3/8"x3/4" hole in the bottom, R&P wasted, e-locker wasted, the Alloy USA shafts (old school ones from 5years ago) and Longfields were untouched. I could've welded up the housing and thrown another lockr in but I decided I'd be better off running a stock D60 housing and going with a Jana 76 kit (put a D70 R&P into D60 housing) without heroic machine work on the rock jock housing. So I picked up a D70 ARB, gonna turn it down an 1/8" on the ring gear mounting surface and put a HP D70 Dana 5.13 R&P in the stock D60 housing. I pressed my tubes out of my rock jock so we can press them into the donor housing and not have to mess with redoing bracketry....probably not any less work but easy enough to do and I don't have to eat as much grinding dust.

For the rear I had regeared it after R&V and put it up for sale prior to breaking the front....once the front was toasted I pulled it out and found a buyer for it who was able to partial trade me an HP D60 housing to use as a donor for my front axle.

So now that the HP D60 rear is gone I'm putting a 14 bolt in it, detroit and having my brother shave the bottom off, he's been doing tons of shave's on 14b's, I like what he's doing way better than Ballistic because you don't have to turn the R&P, spending the coin on turning the R&P isn't worth the extra 1/2" or less that you get IMHO.

Also picked up an NV241OR 4:1 that I just installed tonight, just need to sort the linkage out and transmission mount.....looks like I might have to lower my skid plate an inch or so (oh well the 43's make up for that )

I was going to stretch front and rear more now because I'd like to get to 105-110" but I'm gonna throw it back together the way it is since spring is here and reconsider stretching more next winter. It's worked very well at my current wheel base so what the hell, what's another year.

surprised the R&P let go. I'm running a yukon r&p in my d60 and it's held up great to some serious abuse. running 42" SXIIs on H1 double beadlocks (very heavy!) and a healthy 6.0 (r&p is 5.38)

jeep looks good. have fun with the new rubber

you'll love having the 14 bolt rear. you'll never worry about it. mines spooled and has upgraded 1541 shafts.
