Made good progress on swapping in the higher stall converter last night. I got held up at work, and by the time I got home Jesse had the trans nearly ready to drop out. He found some carnage while taking everything a part. The water pump has sprung a leak at the front seal, and the trans mount snapped the bolt heads off.

Since we had the trans nearly out to swap the converter, we dropped it to the ground and separated the t-case to get easier access to removing the broken bolts. We managed to get the trans back in the jeep and bolted in. We still have to hook up driveshafts, shift linkage, reinstall exhaust, and refill the trans and that job will be done. Hopefully this fixes the issue.

With the size of the leak, it looks like we will be putting in a water pump before the next run, too. We haven't changed the coolant since June, so it was probably time anyway. Ugh.

I agree. Last night would have been much better with one.

Didn't figure you would want us clogging up the lift until the event...

I thought we told him to "pack sand"?

I certainly didn't mean in his hubs.

It was a good night. Got all of the important stuff back together. Backed the jeep out and brought it back in. No more pushing through the brakes in 2lo and 4lo. No more stalling between R-N-D. It appears the issue is solved. Now to go play and make sure it's good to go for Sturgis race in September.

Yeah, Scott found it in Wisconsin at a Barnes & Noble. Planning on heading to the local store today.

No mag here would highlight it so I guess you had to go overseas.

We missed you tonight Jim. It was front hub rehab night. It seems that the last two Badlands races were hell on the hubs. Ended up just throwing fresh parts at it.

Also put some fresh pads in the rear.
