We got a lot of stuff buttoned up for this weekend. I can report that the Gen4 water pump does kick ass over the Gen3 version when it comes to upper radiator hose placement. With the old setup our upper radiator hose rubbed the air intake tube and the air intake tube rubbed the hood. With the Gen4 water pump we have a probably 3/8" gap between the upper hose, air tube, and hood. Lower hose and heater ports are the same.

Just a few more days to get the last details buttoned up.

This weekend was frustrating. We paid the price for not shaving the 14-bolt when they added rock and log obstacles to this weekend's course. But the straw that broke the camel's back was a sticky throttle cable.

The throttle stuck once or twice early in the race, but I thought it was me not pulling my foot back or something. On our 3rd lap I started noticing it more often, and then while stuck on a log, I realized we were sitting there with the throttle stuck open. After they pulled us off I noticed that the throttle was sticking every time so I decided it was getting to sketchy and pulled off.

I was hoping we would find something easy to fix when we stopped, but everything looked good under hood, and it was still sticking even after trying to cycle it a bunch. Pretty frustrating, but not worth risking a stuck throttle in the wrong place and breaking expensive stuff.

So we need to figure out what was causing the throttle to stick. Might move from the lokar throttle and cable to a stock setup to see if that solves it.

Also need to shave the 14-bolt before the next race to try make it easier to get through any obstacles they setup at the next race.

How clean is the throttle plate itself? Seems about every week I am removing a 4.8-5.3-6.0 throttle body to clean the carbon off the plate cause it causes a sticky throttle whether it is a cable throttle or even drive by wire which trips a ecm code.

Butterfly is smooth, has a nice snap to it when done by hand. Cable on the other hand, feels rough. Need to investigate, thinking the inner sheath may have melted a bit, or the inner cable has a fray in it. Not sure, sucks that a30 dollar part takes you out though
