Default Bought a new pistol yesterday

When to the Top Gun to purchase a Glock 19, and started to look at some other pistols. Been a long time since I have been in the market to buy another firearm. I've had my 40 cal. Browning Hi-Power since 1994, and have never had the need for another pistol. Holy crap there is a lot to choose from. I narrowed it down to the Springfeild XD, Smith&Wesson M+P, Glock 19, and well the one I wanted, but was a little out of my price range. The H&K P2000, all of them 9mm. After drooling over the guns for what seemed like 12 hours, I made the decision to go with the Springfeild XD9. Its a little on the big side to carry, but I just dont feel comfortable with the sub-compacts. Me and Unclebeaner are going to the range later today, I cant wait to put some rounds through this thing.
Anyone have any experience with the Springfeild brands. I felt pretty good that I was buying an American gun. Till I read it was built in Croatia.
I guess we dont make anything here anymore.

A friend of mine is one of the owners there. Is it a cool place? I've never been there yet.

You did well purchasing the Springfield XD. It will be an excellent pistol for you.

Why does it look like it has 2 triggers? Is that for double action?

That is the saftey. It has one built in the trigger and the second built into the back of the grip.

They were very helpful yesterday. It is a very nice place. I've never shot there before, but I will today. They give you a free 3 month membership when you make a purchase over $300 on a gun.

Nice purchase, I shot one of those before I bought my Glock, but there were a couple things I didn't like - it left hand sore where the grip safety sat(yes, I know how to hold a gun), I suppose it was just the way the recoil worked. Additionally, I didn't know I was out of rounds until I tried to pull the trigger again - with the Glock, the slide was clearly slid back and I was out of rounds, but there was something about the Springfield that wasn't as obvious to me. Sounds kind of dumb, but I'm sure someone knows what I mean.

Otherwise, it shot very similar to the Glock that I ended up buying, and I wouldn't cry if I got to shoot one again.

Did it come with that extra magazine carrier? I actually have the same style carrier for my 1911 mags, but I cant say that I like it. It seems with mine, I have two choices. Tighten it to the point that the mags hardly come out of it, or chance them falling out.

But good choice with the XD. They are nice pistols.

I hated the feel of the SA sub compact until the guy behind the counter went and got the extended grip. Made a WORLD of a difference.

I'm contemplating between the Springfield XD45 or the Berretta PX4....

I have the XDM-9. Absolutely love the gun. I've had over 1,000 rounds through it since March with zero issues.

Good choice. I have a Sub-Compact .40 S&W as my primary carry gun.

I find that it comes up better than the same size Glock, and it had never failed to function.

Love my XDm.40. Shoots like a dream with no fail to fire issues at all. The triple safety feature is a definite plus on the gun. And 16 + 1 rounds is great. Get an extra mag and you can fill 1 short of a full box of ammo.

I was really debating between the XD and M&P for a while. But after trying them out, the XD just felt too small in my hand. The M&P fit great though. But lately ive been itching over getting a 10mm......so I think Im just going to get a Glock 20C.

The XD is still a great gun though. I havent heard anything bad about it yet....which is more than I can say for the 9mm M&P's.

Good choice. You can't go wrong with the S&W M&Ps, Glocks or Springfield XDs. I have a Glock 22C and have fired 10 to 12 thousand rounds threw it which makes me partial to em but have fired the others and enjoyed them also. Also own a browning hi-power in 9mm which I love.
