Cheap Tracker build: Part 1 of ?
So, I bought this Tracker in mid 2014 as a replacement for my rusted out Grand Prix. I had some big plans for this Tracker as far as a dd/trail rig, but student loans and life got in the way and about 1-1/2 years later it started giving me trouble, first the thermostat when out(it took me 2 weeks to figure it out, cause the replacement was an AutoZone part, and had failed), then the alternator took a poop, and during the course of replacing the alternator, I yanked the wires out of the pigtail out of the alternator. Fun, fun. I ran to the junkyard and clipped off a pigtail from a v6 model that looked similar and did a hack job repair. Well it didnít work, so I had it towed to my Mechanicís shop and I brought a new to me truck. He fixed my wiring job and a few weeks later I went to pick it up and it had battery drain issues still, I could feel it getting slower and slower. So I told my mechanic that it was still acting up and if he had the time to look in it. He though had gotten a bad alternator from AutoZone and would replace it when he was slow. So I stopped in to check up on the tracker every few weeks. I went to my mechanics last week and he said it was all go to. MY Dad and I jump with my truck and it started up just fine, I drove it about 20 feet and park it so I could check the fluids and pump a tire up (from my new truck), about 5 to 10 minutes later, we were ready to leave, I hopped in and drop the tracker in to drive and it died..So I kicked it in door and when to go get food with my dad.
So currently, im at a lost was to what is causing my electrical problems, cause I wanted to turn this thing in to a dune/off road beater and I have it listed on cl and few FB classified posted for cheap.
Iím about to throw a new battery in it after checking the fuses to see if that will fix my issues.
TL:DR, read the post. Tracker doesnít charge battery after two new reman alternator .

I'm not seeing the point of this post, is it a build? or is it a f/s thread? Or is it a help question?

I think it's a "it's 4:00am and I'm drunk and don't know what to do" thread.

Haha, it was something like that.

Basically, if i fixed it(i hope it something Im overlooking) and decide not to sell it, im going to throw a cheap ebay lift on it with a set of 31 tires and take it up to the dune.I found this article from 4wheel;http://www.fourwheeler.com/project-v...tracker-build/. And im using that a plan/idea as to what to do.

Ive looked at all the lifts kit for these cars and there are all the same, coil spacer and new rear shock. tire size is a limitation because there are hardly any small off road tires on the used market, and trackers dont have a lot of power to begin with.

Latter today,Im going head out a work on it a bit more and maybe try again to move.
