About a block from my house.

I had to stop on my way to work yesterday because an equally big 10 pointer was posing in the middle of the road. We really need to allow hunting out here...

I sit in the woods all October and November and I have seen my share of bucks but never would imagine to see 2 trophy buck this close to home !! even though I hunt and kill deer its just a shame how they died !! Its sad but thats nature ? Unbelievable !! And your right they should at least open up bow season thier !! I Would rather hear of a deer getting shot and eaten then being hit by a car ..................

Did anyone ever see the trophy bucks in Warren (12 mile and mound ) Before they "relocated" them to a new location so they could build condos ?? It was a square mile, from 12 mile to 13 mile , and from Ryan to Mound. ( I highly dought the relocated them ) they were incredible, It was like watching a Realtree Monster Bucks video. Some of the bucks were twice If not bgger than the size of the ones on that video !! I live on !! mile and John R and I would go park my truck at the one side on the southeast field and just druell, I went there one night and they would come within 30, 40 yards of the fense because they were used to people, In that small section of field I counted 16 different bucks all out at the same time, along with the does, and the smallest one was a Beautiful monster 8 point, of coarse they had a 12 foot high fence around the whole thing , you cant get in, and they cant get out, besides I think they knew there were save in there. I read about 2 guys bow hunting in there and got caught with a record, monster 12 point. I believe the GM tech center owned the land. I drive 3 hours to go hunting every year and never see bucks anywhere near that size. I think the DNR are doing something wrong if the bucks in the city are Monsters compared to the ones that run free up north !! Just wondering if anyone had ever seen that spot or heard of it ?? Literally right in the middle of the city !!

My fiancee goes to church on Grosse Ile and tells me about every time she sees deer. She told me about a week ago that she saw a couple bucks "fighting", although she said it just looked like they were pushing each other around. Probably not the same incident, but I imagine it looked just like that.

Duffman, does that look like Horsemill Rd (Grosse Ile Presbyterian Church area) to you? If so, maybe it is the same incident.

Either way, she's got pictures of some HUGE deer that always wander out of the woods behind her church. The "Open Space" seems to grow them pretty good.

They went into the water between Ferry and Thorofare, so it's possible - although that's 5-7 blocks south of the church.

I went to church today with my fiancee, so I drove over to the isle. Right at Bridge Rd and Jefferson/ Biddle, by McClouth Steel, there was about 3-4 VERY large deer feeding on the pumpkins that people dump over the fence. Same when I came back.
