Default Transmission ?'s

Just wondering if anyone has had any tranny work done by Joe's Transmission of Boyne City, MI. He is the best price zi have found so far but wonder if you "get what you pay for." I need a 4L60E out of a 95 chevy redone. I just bought the truck last week and it was only supposed to have 12,000 on the tranny rebuild. But it is slipping bad between 2-3 gear and in overdrive. Anyway juust wondering if anybody has delt with Joe's. I live in West Branch so any place closer that does good work would be great too.

The guy is an absolute hack. He "rebuilds" them while you wait. I know three people here that have had problems with his work. I don't do "carry out" trans overhauls, too many variables, especially with computer controlled transmissions. I did a 95 Blazer last week, and found a bad thermostat during the test drive. The convertor did not lock-up, as a result of the engine never reaching operating temp. That is what cooked the old trans, and if it had been a "carry-out" job, the customer would have been dissapointed.
