you might even discover that there was a book prior to the series.

Careful on the use of "true". Liberties were taken in the book, and people you thought that the book telling a story of how easy was the badass company of the 101st were made to look bad.

I think its one of the best mini series ever IMO. Those WWII guys were some "real men". We could never achieve that level of honor.

Look up Donald R. Burgett. He lives in Howell, MI. He was in A Company 101 from the start of the war until the end. Hes written 4 books from his training till he goes home. In order, "Currahee" "Bridge Over Arnhem" "Seven Roads to Hell" "Over the Rhine"

Some of my favorite books of all time.

Actually, I am sure Joe's Grandfather shared a few memories of his time with the 101st, parachuting in on D-day, then a POW, then an escaped POW, then a POW again, then a member of the Soviet army before returning to the American army.

Since books just came up, do a search on:

Behind Hitler's Lines: The True Story of the Only Soldier to Fight for both America and the Soviet Union in World War II

Or this one:

The Simple Sounds of Freedom : The True Story of the Only Soldier to Fight for Both America and the Soviet Union in World War II

Haggar, you are right, it is a war story, but unfortunately good soldiers were put down by Steven Ambros. Don Burgett is a close family friend, and yes his books are awesome. As Pete said, my grandfather was with the 101st, and the 506th. He trained with the men of "Band of Brothers" He does have a book out. Here is his Wiki page:
Joe_Beyrle Joe_Beyrle

It is truly sad that more of the stories of WWII will never be told. They are all great stories.

I'm trying to watch it but my fucking TV is set in Spanish in just that damn channel. My mom decided to fukc the TV up, so now I have two choices: either smoke a bunch of pot and laugh my ass off, or fix the TV. I don't smoke weed so I guess you'll have to help me with this one, I've tried almost every combination of every button on this TV (it's a Panasonic 27" flat screen DVD/VCR/TV combo).
