Customs Agents Seize 316,000 Bongs Disguised as Christmas Ornaments

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,575847,00.html

LOS ANGELES Customs officials say they got a surprise when they found 316,000 glass bongs disguised as Christmas ornaments at the Los Angeles harbor.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Thursday that agents found the highly decorated drug pipes in 860 boxes shipped from China. The cargo, estimated to be worth more than $2.6 million, had been described as glass figures and Christmas ornaments.

"Tobacco" pipes are legal.

However it is illegal to import , export or sell drug paraphernalia in the United States.

That's why when you go to a head shop you have to be careful what you say.

Truthfully I don't see how they can really seize and destroy them unless they were labeled as drug paraphernalia

lol at the media attempting to create an unreasonable sense of fear in people.

How do they know they weren't for "Tobacco Use Only"??

Sure it would have not have been an issue if there where labeled as Tobacco pipes on the customs paper work, because there where labled as christmas goods makes them an illegal shippment.
