Default puppy problem

having issues w one of my dogs. she is a 6 month old lab rot mix. we volunteer w rescue organizations so have been around lots of problem dogs and such. she started out as a foster, which we later adopted. had her since 5 weeks old and has always been very independant. recently has started beeing very cuddly and needy. im not sure what to do in this situation as i usually work with dogs that are the opposite. anybody dealt w this before?

And for the record i have absolutly NO plans of getting RID of the dog or anything dumb like that.

how much attention do you give the dog? has this changed recently? maybe she's feeling left out and just wants more attention. my dog is like that (siberian husky). if she doesn't get enough attention she becomes destructive and chews on whatever she gets ahold of.

just stay consistent with "her time" and she'll adapt. won't change over night though as i'm sure you know.

my dog feels like if you pay to much attention to something rather than her. say the computer she will push her nose under your hand to push it off the mouse so your petting your hand.

hey thanks for the comments guys. since we foster she is always around many dogs plus our other 2. she has always been very antisocial with humans (aside from us) from week 5 untill about 2 weeks ago (she is 6 months old now)and never really craved attention. the problems we are experiencing seem to be early stages of seperation anxiety. she has also became very skiddish around other dogs no matter the size.

my puppy lab acted similar...when I first got him, he didnt want anything to do with anyone, or my other older lab, he just kept to himself and slept somplace out of hte way, like under the desk or behind a chair...when he was about 4 months old or so, he started sleeping in my bed, and always wanted attention, no matter what...now that he is almost 1 year old, he still wants alot of attention, and will normally climb up on the couch and sit next to me, but after a while will climb back down and go sleep on the floor, or go chew on a toy...

basically, I'd say he is just at an age where he wants alot of attention, but will outgrow it eventually...dont give in to him too much, but dont ignore him either..

I am seeing the issue like that of a child, the dog is about the equevlient of a 3 year old. they have there ups and down and may have become disengaged with the other dogs? if so its like any other animal it will seek out any other type of life form to be buddied up to Ie; sheep & donkeys, lamas & goats ,etc.. I would say if you watch the dog around the others theres a behavior accurring that is negative towards your pup. it might even be something that is negative to other dogs as well
