Default S10 steering box?????

Can i use a astro van steering box in place of the stock s10 one? Are the bolt patterns the same or is it real different? Putting a strait axle in the front of one and it needs a track bar and with the factory box i cant get one in there very easy. Any help would be great. Thanks.

astro box is basically the same thing. both use the same platform. so i kinda don't think it would solve your problem.

only difference is the Astro van has the pitman arm pointing forward vs the s10 pointing backwars.. most guys doing Sas's use the Astro box so they can push the axle forward more..

I was told to get one from a 92. So I did, works good for me. My axle is probably about 4 inches forward than the stock IFS axles. Also, I noticed that when the pitman arm is facing straight forward, it is not true center for the steering box. Might save you a little confusion like I had heh.
