WARNING LOTS OF PICS
This Project was started spring of 2008.

I picked up a 1998 Cherokee from a guy near lansing for 800.00

The first thing I did was replace the rear cargo door. Now it was time for a fender trim.

careful of the window wash fluid

next was the lift. I am using a Rough Country 4.5 with the Add a Leafs

The front is done

My new Best Friend PB Blaster

now for some tires
33 12.5x15 Boggers

some bedliner paint along the rockers

I think she looks pretty good.

I knew I was cool when I took this pic. LOL

At this point I was withing I had gone with the full leaf packs
But I was then going to fix this by using a "Double Shackles" for more lift I thought it was a good Idea At the time.

I also had a some dude make me a rear bumper. It looks better than before and sits better too.

Now I wanted better traction so I called up Aussie Lockers and had them send me 1 of these for the D30.

the install was super easy

I had also been hearing from the people on NAXJA.org to get rid of my "Double Shackle" set up, I did not listen to them, one person said if i reverse the set up it may ride better so I did.

It did not ride any better and I lost some of the extra lift I was trying to achieve.

Then I met MINI BEAST He was stuck in a mud pit

I went to pull him out strait newbie style with my sweet locker

now im getting in deep

I have no front recovery points

So we wrapped the axle, well right about then things went south WAY SOUTH

Lost a bead on the rear tire when it came out of the mud

snapped the front axle shaft

and my rear "Double Shackle" set failed

Now it winter 2008

whats going on with my axle

I think I my have bent the axle housing

Full 4.5 inch leaf packs with 2.5 inch lift shackles yeah 7 inches (thats what she said)

Sad Cold Jeep

new U joint

A new D30 4 me

I welded in some extra strength

I made it look pretty, I also added another 2 inches of lift to the front with coil spacers and the adjustable track bar.

Its spring 2009 at the 2 trackers trail clean up

next came the walmart light

then i got a ticket from the USFS for driving on this 2 track

But the charges were dropped
I also installed a Aussie Locker in my 29 spline 8.25
Then busted out my window on the opening day at Bundy Hill

I also Have a trailer now

I love having a trailer soooooo much nicer getting to your wheeling spot this way.
Went to the badlands this year too

We took the baby on his first trail ride fall 2009

At this point I have dropped my jeep of in Fruitport at Rich's shop he is doing a full roll cage custom bumpers and gas tank relocation. I have also picked up a 9" I have been working on and a D44 out of a 3/4 ton that I need to switch over to 5 lug.

The 9" is comming together

Pretty Drum Brakes (I plan to do a disk conversion later)

My wife bought me a spool for my B-Day (aint she sweet)

I will wait to weld on the leaf spring perchs until I can set the springs on the axle to make sure I get the pinion angle right.

I have some 5.37 gears comming in the mail right now, I hope they get here soon

Im keeping the stock axles under it until I have the D44 and 9" built the way I want them. So im going to be wheeling this spring with my current axle setup D30 and 8.25. I will be working on the interior when the cage and bumpers are done and some body mods this winter too. I hope to get the other axles under by next winter but its a work in progress. Thanks for checkin it out Joe. Im looking forward to wheeling with you and the ACES again soon.
