The deer are all screwed up this year. The guys I went hunting with this weekend have been hunting for decades, they've never seen them so elusive as they've been this year. This cold summer really messed with them it seems.

When do you hunt? All day? Part of a day? Do you vary your hunting locations frequently or stick with the same spot? Bucks will more times than not run different patterns at times than other deer. Although I was already well aware of this I've still been pleasantly surprised from time to time when they came in from unknown directions and areas.

I tried that yesterday. Mine must not have a potent enough odor. Is your wife available tomorrow?

I talked to the landowner when he got home from work. He said he saw a 12pt last year up near the house one early am. However nobody else has had any luck on the property this season (firearm and bow). I could hear them snorting near the pond this morning but thanks to the fog i couldn't see shit even after the sun came up. My buddy was out back in a tree stand and heard one run by but couldn't see it. The only thing I did see today was about 10 turkeys that walked within 30 yards of me.

As I was leaving he property tonight, I decided to do a lap around the block. I saw a doe entering form the backside. FFFUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKKKKk.

However if it was turkey season, I'd be knee deep in dead birds.
