CJ axles - built or Waggy Dana 44 front, pass. diff.

Somebody must be upgrading their dana 44's for 60's, since we all know 60's are better. So, who has a set of axles coming out that are for sale. Looking for 44 front, to fit a CJ without outboarding the springs. Model 20 or 44 rear, prefer one piece shafts and trussed. Will be spring under with 33" or smaller tires. No need for 60's - too big and heavy for my use.

or

Looking for a front dana 44, i believe '75-'79 wagoneer. Will be narrowing for a CJ, to match wide track width.

Will take either a stock unit, or one already narrowed.

If stock, will also be looking for someone to narrow axle.

Thanks

Don't know how much your looking to spend but I have one that's completely rebuilt with 4.56 gear and ARB. $1100 and I'll narrow it for you.

Orangepile - More than I originally wanted, but I would put that much into one to get it to that point I'm sure. What are you running on it for outers and steering? I had planned on ending up with a 5x5 1/2, chevy calipers, ford rotors. Not 100% on the knuckles, don't necessarily need high steer since this one is spring under. What are you running out back to go with?

Beavertown - Yeah, I missed that one. Was working on the trans. conversion at the time.

It's all about the timing.

Any other options available?

Orangepile - Still considering yours, top end of the budget, and will still need to convert the lug pattern.

I have a couple here, they are from wide track Cherokees, though. But since you are narrowing it it shouldn't matter.

J Truck Rick -

I'll keep that in mind, will have to look at the rear axle options if I go that way. If I've done my homework right, I could narrow the long side by ~4 inches to bring the spring pads into cj width. On the wide track that should bring the overall width wms to wms to 61". I was actually shooting for around 56"

I could narrow the other side as well, more cost and a second shaft.

What price range are we talking?

Thanks,

I'll send you a PM on the axle part.

Would the stub shafts for the 30 work with a Superior Axle (uses the larger joint), can't remember if there were alloy's or not. Thinking that they were not, but can't find the info on the anymore.

I'll measure the one I bent the ears on.

Thanks
