The DNR is using airplanes with IR cameras looking for congregations of deer. IE: deer feeding on a bait pile. If they find one on your property, youll have sum esplainin to dooo!

ok... I have 5 apple trees and 2 pear trees on my property. I let the fruit fall to the ground and the dear will come right up and eat it. Is this baiting if I shoot them?

The tree was already there. The deer are foraging in their natural habitat. Not feeding on a pile of placed food.

The DNR is worried about communicable diseases being spread by piles.

If you keep adding to the pile, make sure they are of the same type as the trees you have :)

The whole problem started when a DNR found out about all the shitheads that buy truck loads of feed and pile that out....that the problem

Me...I just get feed for the squrrels, blue-jays, and turkeys....it's not my fault if the deer happen to find the pile....I try to keep it hidden from them by putting it infront of a big black blind looking thing.....and I even put the pile in the middle of a ceder swamp to keep the deer from getting to it

tb is naturally occurring...but the first reports the DNR took notice of were around feedlots in the Alpena area. the chronic wasting disease scare started in south-western michigan, on a fenced deer farm (read hunting ranch). oh well...they write the laws.

Dan, are they the 100 lb grain sacks or the 50 lb? pm me details please

I like to tarp off the feedpiles. I remove the tarp when I hunt. They can eat on MY time.
