Yeah, finding a Cherokee is always a plus for installation, lol. I've asked in the tech section on what flasher might have to be wired in to make XJ's not flash quickly when you put LEDs in.

I had LED lights installed today and all i have to say is...AMAZING!!

INTERIOR-I had 5 interior lights installed, 1-modular light, 2- 6 LED map lights, and 2- 9 LED footwell lights

EXTERIOR- I had the Brake lights were replaced with the Dual-Filament 27 LED super bright lights, And the Reverse lights replaced with the Single-Filament 27 LED super bright lights

All pictures are with NO flash and is all LED light

I also bought 2- 27 LED light blinker lights and 2- T10s, BUT because of the low resistance of the LEDs the installation of them caused the blinkers to be on full time so i have to get a heavy duty resistor but when they were installed they were super bright.

I HOPE THIS REVIEW HELPS!!!

Thanks for the writeup, they look great at night! The reverse lights were a single filament replacement style and the map lights 6 LED, and the footwells 9 LED, but otherwise you got it. Like I said, thanks for taking the time to take the pics and post!

I grabbed some white T10's from Ryan yesterday. Great improvement over stock bulbs. Mine's a 96 XJ, so while I'm in the middle of pulling the dash out to replace my heater core, I decided it was worth the time to replace the instrument cluster lights.

I snapped these crappy pics on my cell phone. I'll probably put another cleaner one up later. I took these with my jacket covering the dash since I was installing them in a bright shop.

Before:

After:

Outside of the bright shop:

Overall I installed 5 into the dash. I could've done the blinkers, but they looked a little too bright green for my taste in LED.

You'll be hearing from me soon for more Ryan

Default Post-install picture-fest

I just picked my set up from Ryan tonight. I replaced the gauge lighting, the dome lights (front and rear), and the center console lights in my 00 XJ. I'll have more pictures to update this post with tomorrow, but for now, I'll post my gauge setup.

This is the gauges right after I put the lights in. There were 5 blue LED's, and the picture really doesn't do these justice. The needles were fairly well-retained as orange, also.

Then I got to work on the rest of the gauges. I received an extra mini LED, so I decided to update the ever-so-dim high beam indicator. This is before, and XJ owners know what these look like stock:

It's bright enough for most as-is, but for my tastes, and especially after the gauges are done, it's color and luminosity wasn't quite right. SOoooooo

I replaced it with the extra one and got this:

HUGE improvement! It looks washy in the picture, but in person it's crystal clear, and the perfect brightness/color.

I also replaced the dome lighting, which was a snap (literally). The rear is totally plug and play, and for the front, I only had to do minor modifications to get it to work. One variation I did have with mine is that instead of the way Ryan mounted his to the lens, I chose to make my own mount points so the LED's can sit as far back as possible, to reduce hot spots on the lens surface. Personal preference, but I like the look better that way. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of those at this time, but I will snap some tomorrow as soon as I can and post them up.

Thanks again, Ryan! I'll be hitting you up for more soon. (like tomorrow-ish).

By the way, NSmist, I never thought the pre-97 gauges could look so gorgeous. Nice install.

Thanks. Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the lighting was. Definitely a big improvement.

Gauges look great guys, thanks for posting. If you get a chance, can you use the iTrader thinger?- as that will be valid if/when this thread gets replaced down the road.

Last call for this order on strip LED lighting or large LED bulb orders.

20 for 20 deal (temporary?)

20% Discount if you want to buy in bulk (20 or more at a time).

Also, if you find anything else cheaper elsewhere, I'll match it.

Updated 1st post. I carry bulbs for all makes and models, those are for the XJ specifically, but I carry 1156/1157, 3156/3157, and 7443 bulb replacements, which covers nearly all tail light applications.

Discount of 20% off when you buy 20 bulbs still applies. (Its not as hard as you might think when you go around your vehicle to do 20 bulbs, or do multiple vehicles)

Nope, I just brightest I know of based on trying out all the hyped ones. These are 27 LED I carry are brighter than the 60 LED ones as each LED has 4x the area compared to the ones on the 60 LED versions. If you have a meter, I'd love to know the diff, but they are much brighter than filament versions based on experience. I say screw the LEDs, get some old headlight housings and put some Xenon lights. You'll be able to mow the lawn/plow at 3am...

Don't think that hasn't crossed my mind.

I'd like to find some short, wide "Driving lights" that I could fit in behind the OEM lens and put the xenons in. Something like these:

Do you sell xenons that fit H3 housings?

yes he does, in the other thread.

I have a set of H1's still in the box for the miata. couldn't get the car up off the ground enough in my pathetic excuse of a garage to get them retrofitted in there - so am waiting for a free weekend to borrow time at my friend's dream garagemahall

oh, and hoping for a mailed package soon, getting tired of the tail gaters... and Ryan, I think I'm gonna pick up a triple pack of superlux's for that CHMSL that we had trouble getting to work... that should be nice and bright!

I just want to say that RyeBread is not a jerk - I packed up these LED's that he pre-paid for last time he was here, and I set them on the piano for what must have been 2 weeks and forgot about them. Yesterday I went past and said wtf is this box doing here...dur! So they were sent out yesterday, should be to you tomorrow, Mon at the latest since its not far. So to anyone - feel free to nag me, don't be nice like RyeBread and wait 2-3 weeks ;)

And yeah, I can get H3's - just make sure they have 3/4" of room behind the bulb seat for the HID pigtail that is not present with a halogen bulb (PM me if you have no idea what I'm talking about). It looks like with the ones shown, that you would have to fab up a different, longer boot. With my XJ fogs, I used the boot that comes with the HID kit to make more room /seal the clearance hole I had to drill.

With that CHMSL - my bulbs may work just fine, but for some reason, some circuits need to see resistance. i.e. you can hook up an LED and filament bulb and it works - take away the filament bulb and it goes off. Happened to me a few days ago with the light in a Grand Prix trunk. Not sure what the point is - its not like there would be a warning indicator that your trunk light was burnt out. Same with a CHMSL - its not monitored like some brake lights are on high end cars.

You have any pictures of how much sticks out the back? Not too concerned on the John Deere, but it would be nice to know.
