Yeah but how does it flex?

Drove it to work today!

If the old sheetmetal didn't rattle so much, the wind noise wasn't so terrible, the HVAC system so bad, the windshield wipers so squeaky or quieter in the cab...

...you'd swear you were driving a new truck.

Steering is tight and I have *zero* bumpsteer, brakes are great (though I need to properly bleed them), trans shifts smooth and goes through the gears nice and the thing corners pretty darned flat, even though I have the rear swaybar disconnected.

Putters along quite nice actually - 1700 rpm @ 60 mph.

After building the truck up enough to drive, I have about 100 miles on it - noticed the LF fender sits 1" lower than the RF. I'm not sure, but I think my cab may be tweaked from the accident that bent the frame - I've got a lot more measurements to take - the frame rails are even on both sides. I'm not sure what exactly is wrong - but I did find a large RIP inside the cab, from the kick panel vent door - almost up to the bottom of the A-pillar. This kind of goes along with the bent cab mount bolts when I was disassembling everything...

So I decided to take a quick look on craigslist yesterday to see if anyone nearby had something decent, cab-wise. Third hit found gold.

I'm picking the cab, doors, hood, inner & outer fenders, grille, rad suport up tomorrow.

Best part? (Besides being a TN truck)

$200.

(the glass is included, along with a tilt column)

I would seriously reconsider EVER buying something from Brads01ws6

Since SBC's come from anywhere and go anywhere, the camaro part isn't misleading, however,
* the block is from a 1970 C10 (according to the stamping)
* the heads are these:
1970-80 333882 350,400 1.94 1.5 76
E164 = Cast on May 16th, 1974

The crank is a 400 casting...however - I'm not sure on it never being fired...

So I found the root of my engine problem. Brads01ws6.
I can't do anything about it, however, I can let people know that anything you sell may not be 100% factual.

That's a kick in the junk. I just hope the engine that I bought from a guy on gl4x4 turns out to be better.

So with this new cab, how much of the original truck is left?

Hey Sweetheart, I'm driving mine.

Not sure if this cab will go on or not - I can sell the inside panel and rear window to someone that wants to convert their ride to a big back window - for probably double what I bought it for.

If this cab goes on - a door or two, the front crossmember and the bellhousing will be all that remains.

My clutch line failed on me two weeks ago, and I spent 4 hours today replacing it. Man, do I ever miss my left arm and having "unbroken" ribs - irritated my ribcage so much today - I can barely breathe w/o sharp pain.
*TOTALLY* worth it though - went for a couple mile drive and snapped a few shots that aren't in front of my garage. :D

Those pictures look so much better than the garage ones. At least your whole yard isn't Kodiakish :)

Nope, but I trim the hedges, if you get my drift.

Yep - lawn not mowed in the last month. I was hoping it would go to seed one more time this year but no luck. My dags are tough on the grass, so I do not mow much in early spring or late fall - I want the grass to be strong and healthy for the damage it gets the rest of the year. Works well, and anyway, with a log home, you kind of lose the "rustic" look when you start manicuring things.
