Sprayed it on. This is a combination of eXtreme chassis black over bare steel and rust encapsulator. I used the RE on really rusty areas that seemed like they needed a bit more protection.

Nice work. That's cool that you boxed the frame. It'll handle the 3-wheelin' corners on the air bag suspension better.

How'd you like working with the Eastwood stuff, Scot? Did you use the aerosol, or do you have a spray gun? I'm using some of the Extreme Chassis Black on a trailer storage box right now...almost done. Pics to come in my trailer build thread soon. Overall, I like the stuff better than POR-15, without a doubt.

Nice job with the frame!

Looks like you have some room for some serious meat in the rear. Is that in the plans or are you sticking with the camero rims? I didn't read a lot of the post but did admire your awesome progress in pics to please forgive the question if you already stated the plans.

Going to run it "patina" this year - fixing the rust I cut out, but covering it in grey primer. Body and paint is next winter.

Thanks! The eastwood stuff is pricey, but sprays and covers nice as long as the surface is clean. Never used POR15- but I remember your trails and tribulations with it...

When I source a stronger transmission, I'm having the rear wheels widened and going with 305/45R18 Nitto drag radials.

I've had good luck with the Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. It seems as rust-fighting and hard/tough as POR-15, but less fussy.

Also no isocyantes to make you dead. Watched "American Restoration" last night where they were POR-15-ing the inside of a tank. The kid said it "smelled like death". No shit. Bad stuff - wear your respirator with POR-15.

That will look tits. Especially once you get the bigger meats under the back end. I'm sure you will, but make sure to get some good photos when its in this stage. I need a new background for my work computer.
