Okay, full custom frame idea has been jettisoned in favor of a "new" 1964 rolling chassis I found.
Here's the donor:

Rear. The "tabs" have bolts through them and into the rear cab mounts:

Front. The cab has support rails that run the length of it and terminate at these spots - it is also the main structural connection for the inner fenders.

Another front shot -

After I get some other things taken care of, the stands are coming apart and getting modified a bit. They'll be widened and get casters, the centers will get bolted together instead of clamped, AND, the pivot housing is getting a clamp built in to it - I don't like using "pins" to secure my cab from rotating.

Nice, and creative. Does it have enough height to clear when it's rolled around, or does it just allow you to angle it 45-degree-ish each way?

Thanks! About ninety bucks worth of creativity!

Um, I'm not going to see just how far it goes without a spotter.

I'm hoping for 65-70 deg of rotation - but not till I add a bit more stability.

Default update

Got the new chassis...

Set up at the final ride height to measure for suspension components:

Cut 2" out of the front crossmember for ~ 1/2 of the drop on the front suspension:

Plan is to go with drop spindles for another 2.5" lower up front. This route, I can keep decent geometry - which shorter springs don't let you do. Planning on getting the front crossmember done tomorrow - then start mocking up the new engine and trans location.

Update:

Things have been a bit slow on the truck, as I got Fallout # for Christmas and have been busy shooting bad guise.

So, here are a few pictures:

Old & Busted:

New Hottness:

Notches cut for R&P steering & inner fish plates roughed out. These plates will be the base to tie in the top and bottom of the frame's cross-section. This is necessary because of the notches AND the added moment arm the upper A-arm will have since it is mounted higher.

All I know is this: I want a plasma cutter so bad I can taste it.

Other developments:

I am now the proud owner of a Ford 8.8 IRS out of a T-bird supercoupe; stay tuned...

You suck at personal time management. Hire 'wooha for a consultation immediately.

Fag.
