Default Looking for a good hiking area southwest of Bundy Hill (Jackson area)

I'm headed to Bundy Hill Offroad Park in Jerome, MI with my wife on Nov 14th weekend, but Bundy will be closed on Sunday due to beginning of hunting season. We would like to check out some hiking or outdoor activities on Sunday and maybe Friday. Any suggestions. We're coming from Illinois, so southwest or nearby to Jackson would be preferred.

Edit: 14th, not the 4th.

There shouldn't be a hunting season that opens that weekend. The 4th is a wednesday.

I think he actually meant November 14th? Not November 4th.
If it is November 14th, then you don't want to be Hiking anywhere in Michigan on Sunday the 15th. That's Opening Day of our Firearms Deer Season.

If it's November 4th, then you're safe-er, but it is still Bow Season.

Burchfield Park is kind of close to Jackson.

So are the Waterloo and Pinckney State Rec Areas. I'd do some research on if they allow hunting if you're going to be out there on the 15th.

Walker Tavern, Walter Hayes State Park, and Hidden Lake Gardens are all close and should be safe on the 15th

You have got to be out of your mind if you want to go hiking in unfamiliar land the 15th.
