You traded a running rig for a carcass of a truck of which you have part of the frame and engine left At least with a Jeep you'd still have something worth a dime or two

You can't mention EB anywhere near a thread about jeep people thinking they're shit's worth gold. EB people are out of their f_ing minds on what they think "old jeep" stuff is worth

ACtually only thing not left over from the "carcass" was a body and the body paid for the new body in scrap wieght.

the e4od is in storage after it was converted to a 4wd trans.......My bronco has a e4od that won't last forever . The 1356 is sitting cause I have no use for it and haven't listed it for sale yet.

Hopefully these will last a bit longer then the 15 year old stock ones did.........when you think about it, I have wheeled on those stock stubs now for almost a full year on 38's and 4d's and wheeled hard. Plus, when I bought that 60 the prior owner obviously was pretty hard on it considering the pinion was broken clean at the yoke. So those stockers have seen there use

I would build a wrangler (cj,tj,yj whatever) just haven't found a solid enough platform to start with.

Yeah John,

Build a jeep, but continue to use your Ford Engine, axles, and rest of the powertain. Then you'll be built just like the rest "hardcore" jeeps out there, running a jeep body , maybe a stock frame and everything else pirated off of a "vehicle of lesser stature" (as stated as the jeep blessing).

If you want to have a Jeep just change the body.

what is the extended/collapsed length of your rear shocks? My 1 year old skyjacker Nitro 9000's will probably work for you and will be cheap.

Well finally got the new stubs in, what a PITA. Had to trim 5/8" off the end of the stubs to fit in the ford hub. But then the lockout bottomed out on the stub shaft before sliding on the way into the hub so I couldn't install the outer c-clip. Tried the wider bearing race on the inside of the hub but that still didn't give me enough. So I had to file the splines deeper down the length of the stub. Now everything fits together.

Also have to give a big to Automasters in GR. I bought my skyjacker shocks last year from them and I had two that developed leaks. I stopped in there and they warrantied both shocks with NO hassle. I have bought lots of shocks from lots of places, and every time I have ever tried to get them warrantied for any reason I was always met with bs and hassle and excuses and was never taken care of. It was nice to get it taken care of easily. I had planned to get a new 3" downpipe for the turbo on my 97 powerstroke from an online vendor, but after they took care of me on the shocks I had them order it up through them as well as a dual gauge "A" pod for a future pyrometer and trans temp gauge.
